As has been pointed out.
The Best score of R3 was the leader's 63.
So 2 points to not many people.

The top 20 favourites in the top 20 at the end of day 3... Strangely fair (like the 'S's")
10 - Koepka, Rahm, Rose, Schauffele, Fleetwood, Stenson, Thomas, Kuchar, Fowler, Spieth.
Are in there.
10 = 4 points, 9 or 11 = 2 points, 8 or 12 = 1 Point.

Coupled with the revised typos of yesterday, and the inclusion of Anfeild's missing entry.

In the absence of any prize from Betfair this time, The top 5, at the end of the championship will receive prizes, courtesy of a really kind and interested donor, for whom I’m running this.
1st - £150. 2nd - £100. 3rd - £70. 4th - £50. 5th - £40.

The last 6 sections.
I think it's pretty fair to say it mostly didn't go as predicted, any of it.

But that doesn't mean we don't have winners and losers in the competition.

Section G: Top Asian: S.Park (no-one picked him) would have been 3 points. B. An was clear second though and scores the only person who picked him a point!

Section H: Top British/Irish player. Just one person suggested it would be runaway winner, Shane Lowry. Well done, sewter lives again. 4 points to you.
Second Brit was Tommy Fleetwood. He got 5 of you 2 points. Third in the list - Lee Westwood shows there's life in the old dog yet. gets no-one at all 1 point.

Section I: Top European player. In the end, three of the favs made it to the top, and all finished at 3 under par. They share all 7 points equally.
Rahm, Noren and Molinari (after a brilliant last round 5 under) each score 2.33 points

Section J: Top US player. Tony Finau moved through the pack to earn 5 points for the 2 people who selected him. 1 shot behind him was Koepka, (3 points), then another shot back to Fowler (2 points) and just 1 more shot to Reed, (1 point), who surprisingly went unchosen!

Section K the winning Margin: A huge 6 Shots... Again no-one expected that!!! 3 points goes a-begging.

Lastly, Section L. The winning score. Mr Lowry did good! And finished 15 under par which is 269. and scores 5 points.
Predictions of 268 and 270 each score 3 points. 267 and 271 each score 2 points. 266 (no-one picked) and 272 earn 1 point.

All of which brings us to the competition result... This is dependent upon any dissent/stewards/complaints and will remain so until TUESDAY.
After which time I will contact all the winners via PM, so look to see if you have a message, so I can get your winnings to you.

Clear Winner: on 16.33 Competition regular, saxon farm. VERY well done to you sir, is this your debut on the podium? £150 will be coming your way in the coming week.

2nd place - thanks my softness and kindness, appreciation to and from xaar please - whose 20 minute late entry scraped in because I was still working on this.
£100 to you. congratulations.

There is a 3 way tie for 3rd, so we'll revert to the tiebreak:
The number of previous winners in the top 20 (and ties, so actually top 30). Is 5 (Spieth, Cink, Stenson, Oosthuizen and Molinari).
Both AndH and loui predicted 4. sofiakenny said 2, so ends up in 5th place and wins £40

Which means for 3rd and 4th, we need the 2nd tiebreak. As we know, Tiger Woods missed the cut, so we have to double the number of pars he scored in R1 and R2 which was 21 so nearest to 42 gets it.... AandH proffered 52, and loui was closer with 47.

loui is therefore 3rd and wins £70, AandH finishes in 4th and wins £50.

Thank you all for taking part in this and all my other competitions throughout the past 12 years, the appreciation has kept me running them. As has the Prize fund from the anonymous forumite - who on a few occasions has given you lot money! (I wish I could tell you who it is, but I promised I wouldn't).

I hope you enjoyed it and in some part it added to your golf-watching and betting experience.

My biggest hope now, is that someone from Betfair looks at this. If they do I'd like to say, you have been unhelpful, slow to communicate, and self-defeating.
Because of the abysmal attitude shown by the incredibly badly named customer service team, not only will I never run another competition, but I am no longer, after 15 years, going to provide you with any custom.
Instead of telling people Betfair is good and recommending your site, I shall be telling it as it now is. Particularly how amazingly poor the forum is and how ineptly it's being run.

It is an insult for Betfair to have gone from ASKING ME to run competitions to the pathetic, miserable lack of assistance with this one. Betfair have had about 12 years of free marketing which would have cost £1000's to buy, and have become dismissive. So - all I can do is vote with my feet.

I would.

They like to hand out the chores and decisions to whoever it is that is incapable of running the forum.

I put a sporting competition on a gambling site forum and they refuse to put it to the top, in favour of some threads about how Donald Trump is great for making racist tweets.... and other assorted crap.

Why would I want to deal with an organisation who shows such contempt for its core product and for its customers.

i was lucky enough to get some hospitality via a forum comp a few years back, and the betfair staff i met
were great guys. they also had good guys who picked up forum comments down the years.

so they could do something if they wished

sad that its gone the way it has,

I'm not bothered with that. It's never been why I do these.

What I seriously hate though, is being patronised.
They managed to do that big style.

I was indisposed this year

betfair care no more the forum is decimated
so they cant interact us old uns will rue modern tech
opinion now is irrelevant
