I disagree Jedi you are a hard man to give credit, I think under the circumstances, with sergio in his late thirties it was a cracking win
don't forget that before then he'd been pretty much written off in terms of making his major breakthrough... so to finally win one was huge |

I still think he flucked the 2015 US Open, if not for DJs 3 putt from 4 feet he'd have won it imo
His Open win fair dues he bounced back but, it was a farce on that 11th or 13th (never can remember which number it was) Only his Masters win was done with any bottle |

yeah maybe optimistic to think spieth will win, fowler and rahmbo currently pressing very strongly for their first major.

a lot think when it is wet it suits the bombers but not to sure i buy that theory - yes they get some advantage off the tee but the biggest advantage for all is that they can hold the green with approach shots. Yes its an advantage to be going in with shorter irons but these guys are so good that if you given them soft greens they can fire darts with mid irons as well.
The rough is thick in parts and wet so accuracy is probably a bigger premium than length. |

I saw a couple of predictions of a 59 before the event started and thought that was a bit much. Quite possible we see a couple go close. Although the major record going from 62 to 59 around this track would be a travesty, they'd be campaigning to strike it from the record.

Think they were quite tentative yesterday but today as they get more aggressive the course is getting shown up. Going to need to put the pins in the bunkers to defend it over the weekend.
