US Open First Round Leader

Thanks JML and thanks for reading. You make a fair point re prices. What I basically look to ensure each week is that the prices I put up are available with one of the leading 5 or 6 firms and I double check them just before posting.

Beyond this not much more I can do and it's inevitable that some if not most will get cut as the week goes on particularly in a high profile week like this week.

With regards to going for the 10 places e/w as I am often picking bigger priced players I prefer to get the most e/w places available, which obviously leads to slightly shorter odds. Some of my readers may prefer anyway to go for the bigger prices with less places & from a P&L point of view over a season this may well even itself out.

I also do my best every week to get my preview out on Mon evening so that the value is still there.

I was actually saying to someone earlier that van der velde's meltdown made him a lot more memorable than a lot of the winners of the open. would he still be recalled now if he had comfortably parred that hole? he'd just be another one time winner of an major, now easily forgotten.
