I've played Portstewart a few times, and have a feeling, weather permitting of course, that we will see some very good scores this week. There are so many world class courses in Ireland and its a shame more of the very best ones don't get this event imo. I think this will favour some of the low scorers over the grinders.
Fleetwood clearly in very good nick, but his price looks terrible to me. Surprised Rory is fav, considering his overall record on links courses. Couldn't have him on my mind. Rahm hung in really well last week but might need a few more weeks on these type of courses before he becomes value.
Team of three for me.
Thomas Pieters my main bet. Decent effort again in France last week and feel he is moving in the right direction. Has also some decent links form to his name. Andy Sullivan looks a good price to my eyes and seems to be getting back to his very best. Definitely seems to enjoy links golf Shane Lowry as a saver. Poor show last week, but decent efforts prior to that in the US Open and in the BMW. Hoping the Irish air will bring out the best in him. Also backing him to be top Irishman at a very generous looking 5/1.
MugIlroy is sooo overrated i'll say this now hasn't got a prayer of another major and very much doubt he'll get in dbl figs re any more wins know i'll be shot down in flames by all the fangirls but let's meet back here in a few years

Graded penalties and nobody trying to be clever.........everything that Potomac, Erin's Hills wasn't.......you expect to be penalized depending on your deficiency of shot but you do not expect to have your 'legs cut off'. I am watching Rose and Fleetwood make 'a horlicks' of the Par 5 13th.... there are about 5 grades of penalty rough out there depending on your distance from the centre of the fairway............as it should be. Well Done!

In a deep and dark hole in the Greenbrier that light won't even escape from but sitting pretty here, field green with Matsy and Rahm big winners. Hoping it's a cream to the top deal.

The parkland tracks in Ireland are beautiful but playing on a links leading into the Scottish and then the big one is surely the way to go into the future for this tourney. Can see it attracting a lot of big names considering the main tour doesn't serve up much to get excited about in this part of the schedule. Scottish has gone from strength to strength since embracing it's place as a warm up event, a 3 week links binge would be received well by all imo.

Daniel Im, no idea who he is but looks rock solid. Loves the 3 quarter swing shots, good for links golf. Move some Rahm to him and field green as well.

I accept we are always behind live but it seems more than ever lately.Im's price confirmed his par on 18 as Heberts putt dropped. The on-course vultures will be dining well.

Looks like about -24 will be the final score. Some golfers too far back but golf is a great leveller. We have seen every weather bar too much wind. Might be time to invest in the British Open Scottish Open. Lowry had a nice final round. He may be pissed off with all the attention to Rory who today is more a business man than a golfer. That said, what a bonanza for Irish tourism. Some guy just tweeted he is watching live from South Africa. Magners and Guinness are doing well also. Pity those who only made today as spectators. Hard to enjoy in the wet. It's ok if you get paid to do it. Anyway, hope you all are enjoying the beaty of Ireland and the top golf.

Next step on the road to World Number 1.... Temperament issues hopefully set aside. All the talent in the world, and a top young bloke to boot. Finish it off young man.

No pressure at the moment Meng, next best on course is 4 shots back and he has plenty of holes in hand on those two. Looks a precession, with feelgood chems flowing and an easy course -24 isn't hard to imagine.
World number 1 at some point does seem a foregone conclusion.

This year Rhino,? I think so.... Hope he has looked at the temperament issue, will be nigh on unbeatable if can.Looks far more under control this week for sure!
Has all the tools and terrific to see him on the Links in all weathers.
Especially when on large for the OPEN.

Not this year Jedi. Too much ground to make up though he still isn't close to 40 tourneys so he only gains with each cut made. A chance maybe but don't think DJ will lose too many points, most of his are this season and last. Day is set to lose a truckload when his streak at the end of 2015 disappears, will be out of the top 10 if he doesn't get moving. Unthinkable at this time last year.

Watching a different golfer to me if you think Rahm been lucky JTB.
Guy is ****g sensational....You get the breaks when going well.
Different class to closest guys on board at off today. And its showed.
Swing unbelievable, see drive on 10 there? Dont need to have a pop at everyone. barking up wrong tree if looking to oppose this fella IMO.
One flaw only and its his hairtrigger temper, hes clearly getting that sorted already...

It's only 2 days since he slammed his putter in to the green surface after missing a 10ft par save.Unless they bring in a 2 shot penalty for such embarrassing behaviour he will never change.Small fines or a slap on the wrist won't work. Today on the 2nd he started off on one after his poor 3rd shot.Thankfully for the green he holed his 25ft par save and everything was again great in his world. And you think he's clearly getting it sorted ,sorry but it made me laugh.

Ill just say Frames IMO he is trying to address the issue,he has spoken of it,and he was clearly embarrassed after US Open as openly apologised to playing partners over first 2 days!

I think part of the problem is there are no punishments available other than a shot penalty, or two, or four (poor Lexi). Maybe for the less consequential they can take a club out of the bag for the rest of the round. Will never happen, but seems fairer and is actually quite logical in my mind.

Will Birkdale suit though? The plodders dominated last time - Pod, Poults, Ole man Norman using ole man guile not his 1986 bombs, Furyk, and Stenson were the top 5. Lot of fairways and greens types.

golfers are allowed to do other things than play golf, sounds like you didnt approve of him being at wimbledon. having some time off probably helps stop them getting burnt out
