sung kang short priced fav now and deservedly so. Will be interesting to see how he handles the next two rounds. Probably 2 under will do it for him and it's possible that even going round in level par will be good enough. For the rest of the field, they must be praying that he has a blow up hole at some point.
Kang has won in korea but no wins on PGA tour or even web.com tour, and at age 29, this would be slightly worrying for those lumping on at v short prices. |

Russell Henley to win Shell Houston Open.(backed him after Round 1)
And Dustin Johnson WILL WIN the Masters.( backed him all year). |

Kang has played two superb rounds but could find it difficult to maintain. His putting yardage for these two round is massive and he needs to get closer to pins to keep his lead. In his favour is a six shot lead but by the time he tees off this is likely to have been reduced. He has played without much pressure so far but when the heat is on it will test his bottle. Realistically only Swafford/Henley and Fowler capable of catching him. Reasonable weather forecast could enable one of them to go low but hard to see Kang not breaking par given how easy some of the holes are. Probably better 5/4 shots in the football so one to watch rather than bet. IMO

I disagree I think quite a few could catch him if he performs badly
|
|
By:
It looks impossible for his lead to be reduced before he tees off.
|
|
By:
Unless he's late to the tee.

36 holes is a long way to go but already it is Kang's to lose. He has putted incredibly over the first 36 and is unlikely to keep that up. There are only 9 players less than 10 shots back so Kang is probably going to have to give them some help.

You're correct frames - I thought they were playing in two balls. Judging by the early starters the birdy fest seems to have dried up. Suspect the greens will be faster today. |

At 7/4, even with a three shot deficit, I still think it's Rickie's to lose!
