The beautiful Barsebäck Golf & Country Club is in the southern part of Sweden. The venue is vastly experienced in staging this event, most recently in 2009, and this year the Nordea Masters visits Barsebäck for the tenth time.

PREVIOUS WINNERS here in Malmo: (formerly the Scandinavian Masters)
SIR Nick in '92 and Jesper Parnevik 1995, followed by fellow Swede Joakim Haeggman 1997 then the Volvo Scandinavian Masters, BIG Monty (1999 and 2001). Adam Scott in 2003 Scandic Carlsberg Scandinavian Masters. Luke Donald shot 16 under in the 2004 Scandinavian Masters by Carlsberg, with Stenson the runner-up. Marc Warren -10 in 2006 EnterCard Scandinavian Masters and Ricardo Gonzalez -10 in 2009 SAS Masters. FIVE Swedes have won seven editions since 1991 (Parnevik/Norén twice - with Peter Hanson 2008 & Richard S. Johnson 2010 at other venues) Henrik STENSON will attempt to win his home event for the first time, a year on from becoming the first Swede to win the OPEN Championship at Troon. This is literally a 'home game' - as he has a house here in Malmo. The two-time runner-up has to be a big contender this week - his last three appearances read 5th, 13th & 4th - after his strong finish in Wentworth.

Ireland’s Paul Dunne has been highlighted by Sporting Life as their best bet this week - the selection came within a whisker of his maiden victory when pipped in a play-off by Edoardo Molinari in Morocco - Paul is putting together a really nice season (with finishes of 30th,33,2nd,mc,6,23,mc,42,21,39,29th in HK & 28th) and currently stands 27th on the RtoD. He qualified for the US Open on Monday at Walton Heath which could be a timely boost and admitted earlier in the year that he feels much more the complete article compared to 2016, with all parts of his game coming together more consistently.
LEVY who sits in 13th place, one behind Wee Rory in the RtoD, also qualified for the US Open in 3rd position at Walton Heath. ALL IN ON THE FRENCHIE.

ANOTHER ITALIAN WINNER THIS YEAR: 20yo Renato Paratore - his first European Tour victory and the youngest winner on Tour since fellow Italian Manassero Matteo won the 2013 BMW PGA. T2 M.Fitzpatrick (Defending champion carded a 68) & C.Wood (needed par on 18th for play-off) @ -10. T4 @-9 Coetzee & Olesen. 6th @-8 Pavon. RENATO created history at the 2015 Alstom Open de France by becoming the first player to record the same score – a four – on each of the 18 holes. Paratore has also developed a reputation for being one of the fastest professionals in the world.
