in the last 40 years I think there have only been 5 winning scores that have been 16 under or better
so if you get 16 under you win, basically or very unlucky not to ![]() |
By:
I think they'll toughen it up this year, maybe make the pins very difficult for example, organizers will fear these big bombers tearing the course apart, they've already changed one of the par fives that bubba reached with a hit over the trees and a simple wedge.
By:
they have bought some land but havent changed anything yet on 13.
If the course is soft i think the 16 - 20 under is very possible. Hopefully it will be firm and fast with a winning score around -10 |
By:
Don't think the 13th has been lengthened yet lewisham, I've read they are buying land in order to have that option, but don't think that will be for this year. Hopefully they don't touch it. Pin positions rarely change from year to year, doubt they will tinker, especially the back 9 on Sunday pin positions. They won't lengthen the rough because there is no rough. Mighty is correct, all about hard or soft. It's up to the man upstairs how the course will play.

Great minds think alike Mighty, simultaneously too it seems

By:
Would be a travesty if they changed 13. Best par 5 in the world and they want to tinker because someone hit the best tee shot I've ever seen on it

By:
they are considering changing it off the back of bubba's drive 2 years ago where he carried all the trees on the left and only had a wedge in!
They did change the course after tigers win in 97. Its a shame how technology advances make holes and courses obsolete but unless they reverse things in this area it will only get worse. |

would like to see tony finau around this course, not playing this year but some of the shots he hit yesterday were outrageous
just have a feeling this guy is going to go to the very top of the game. reminds me of dusty bin, a good short game and absolutely bombs it off the tee speaking of dusty he's another one who should be on the radar for the masters, problem is at this rate I'll back half the field ![]() |
By:
You are right Mighty, I think what we are seeing now is a domination of the bombers, that's why I can see someone like Tony Finau being a top five player in a few years for example, will just be dominated by the big guys.
I think Golf is in a good spot right now, but if people started hitting it any further it would be ridiculous, it would turn people away from the game, sadly manufacturers are just obsessed with length and developing equipment that enables golfers to hit a ball even further still, until the powers that be take a stand and say enough is enough, it will only get worse |
By:
dusty already hits it too far !
By:
yes but he evens it up by hitting his wedges like most hit a 5 iron

Justin Rose looks value to me @ 32 on here - been very consistent at the top level for a few seasons and excellent record at Augusta.

By:
12/1bubba ew 8 places!!!! i n ever back him but i had to join in on this terms with skybet
By:
trying to get abit of 75 garcia obviously with a view trade(possibly before a ball is struck) but during the tourney if that provides better chances to do so
By:
Day will be hard to beat. He has no weaknesses and after a week off will be (hopefully!) fighting fit.
Unoriginal but 7/1 is a fair price I think. Of the rest I like the following (all BF win prices): Rose 31/1 Oosty 37/1 Zach Johnson 69/1 Kooepka 79/1 Branden Grace 84/1 Dubuisson 349/1 |

what a bloated piece of awful americana its become-the crows nest, the par 3, the green jacket,-all of it,bet most players fckn dread it but theyve no choice really, some things just get too big
By:
sergio might be underestimated here, 75-1, played very well a couple of tournaments back just lost out to scott who is far shorter in the betting tremendous ball striker obviously there's a doubt that he can get it done under pressure but surely he could turn out to be a very good back to lay in running.
By:
didnt he do q well the other week sergio?but has just lost that sheen of a winner-you know not a contender in any real sense and this test really does test them
By:
see rory mincer swerved the par 3 this year and i dont blame him-for the front runners/favs must be a bit wearing
By:
Sergio will be up there but he's the biggest choker around.
