Mickelson's Second Round Proves He's Wholly Embraced Links Golf. “I really enjoy the challenge that this weather and these elements provide,” said Mickelson. “I thought this was a good round to back up the low round yesterday. I played kind of steer-free golf again. I did make one or two bad swings that left to bogeys but for the most part I kept the ball in play.”

You really do have to 'embrace' links golf - it will reward you like no other love !

The toughest holes so far today are the 11th, 10th, 15th, 9th & 8th. That top turn in the course is proving critical.

If your surname ends in son or sen, you have a great chance of winning this, not Watson though.

Brisk winds will blow through Royal Troon on Sunday, hindering players attempts to repeat Phil Mickelson's record-tying round. After the wettest day of the tournament unfolded on Friday, players and fans will have to deal with a moderate breeze and a little rain on Sunday. Wind will be a little lighter on Sunday when compared to Saturday, but a few gusts could surpass 20 mph (32 km/h). Sustained winds will be 8-16 mph (12-25 km/h) from the west to southwest.

Amid the moderate breeze, showers will dampen Royan Troon on Sunday morning. The showers will likely prove to be more of a nuisance to players and spectators than significantly impacting play. Rain will not last all day as dry conditions should make a return during the afternoon. High temperature on Sunday will be around 18 C (64 F). A gentle afternoon breeze will be perfect for a grandstand finish.

Just got up and usually its a sleepless night in anticipation of the final round, no interest this year, slightly interesting to watch the players practicing at Troon but its meaningless stuff!

Having a disaster, Dustin is the best placed of my pre-tourney bets, So I've laid Stenson and Mickelson.  Spreadsheet says it's 12/1 bar two.  At least I'll get either some excitement or be totally despondent.  Good luck with yours.ExcitedCoolCry

1, 2, 5, 8 & 9 are proving the toughest holes on the front nine.

Like it's been all week - THE FUN STARTS on the back nine - watch out in particular for holes 11th, 12th & 15th being the critical holes later on.

After Jack & Tom's 'Duel In The Sun' in 1977 at Turnberry - wonder will they call this "The TRILLER in TROON" - 6 BIRDIES and an EAGLE after only 6 holes, it's not dull with both players fifteen under, 8 clear of the rest.
