whats the weather gonna be like for afternoon starters
By:
having watched that round I would worry about Garcia with the pressure this place puts on the putting.
By:
weather looks the same--wind maybe slightly stronger
By:
Wozniacki had a similar morning
By:
yep, Garcia struggling as well, bad putters need not apply this week
By:
not sure of that - harrington leading is one of the most erratic putters playing!!
By:
wow--garcia refusing to shake hands with pod after round

wory 160th and sky still battering on about their live coverage of him trying to make the cut, must be the most one dimensional world no 1 of all time,
if its 70 degrees,no wind, flat bombers course with overwatered greens ,he,s your man ,anything else need not apply |
By:
Garcia did shake pods hand

in racing they call a horse like that a flat track bully apart from the odd times he putts very well, you are correct, hot, soft underfoot, long and to cap it off right to left holes and flags |
By:
rory's biggest problem is they compare him to tiger, yes he's a special talent but like all golfers runs hot and cold, the very thing which set tiger apart.
By:
correct, we will never see anyone like Tiger in our lives.
You could lump on him at 6/4 before the start and you arguably had value. |
By:
bah - did Horsey get penalised, nion possitive he was showing one under thru 17 but +1 now showing a double on the 13th?
was very happy with my picks till i saw this!! ![]() |

The rhino , the "water hazard" on the 17th is a pond , has been there from time immemorial, ranks as a bit of an anomaly on a great links course , no explanantion for it , you just have to avoid it off the tee , prevailing wind often does that for you .
Anyone trying to overpower RCD will come a cropper if there is any wind about . You have to take the easier opportunities the course offers , spurn them and the inevitable bogeys on the tougher holes will push you score up . Links golf at its best ( and toughest betimes ) . A great scrambler ( maybe the best in recent memory ) like Padraig can fashion a good score , very good score today . Trouble is doing it 4 days in a row can be difficult . The wrong Irish guy is joint leader , most locals figured Shane Lowry would be the man ( good scrambler too ) but forgot about Padraig . Early days , throw a dart , pick the winner . |

Back to the 5 second delay this morning.

par, actually the "flat track bully " thing has only come into racing recently, it strtd out in cricket particularly aimed 9a bit unfairly) at Graeme hick. the fact that he struggled on bouncy tracks with the ball up around his head, many times he got caught playing a bouncer a facing away as the ball got near and hed top edge it to a strategically placed catcher
By:
as for rory he can win on any course, he seems like hes played a bit oo much without a break , his putting is often an issue, it blows hot and cold(deffo his weakest part of his game)
By:
Can't agree that Rory can win on any course, yesterday was a good example, Rory plays with a strong right to left ball flight, Royal County Down yesterday pretty much had 9 holes with a right to left wind and 9 with the opposite, Rory dropped a shot on 8 of the 9 with the right to left wind, the one he dropped on the left to right was a 3 putt.
