early plays on Fowler 14/1 and Horsey 200+ - as far as "course form" goes which there is pretty much none these two have all there is.
They both and quite impressivly from what i've read played in the walker cup 2007, young un's winning 3-0 in there matches. A little thin i know but the fact is, if u like a course and play it well, it's got to be a possitive. |

Wouldve tagged Donaldson but hes w/drawn I see so have tagged Chris Woods, Moli (1 more week....?) Jaidee, Ramsey, Kjeldsen at a nice price whose coming into some form & also have another at high odds waiting to be taken who also likes this style of course.
Too much going on for Rory to win this week..... I hope. |

i never back anyone under $80 but in his home country Rory does look the winner?
will play my usual roughies including Stal, Lewis, Quesne - Sullivan finished strong last week so may include him too Great field by the way I thought |

I've heard the greens are very slopey and lots of balls will be running off the greens, a high ball hitter like Rory should suit this course as long as it doesn't get too windy

Kevin Phelan 200's 5places was third in October’s Hong Kong Open, T2 with 67,68,71,66 at the Joburg Open and led the recent Africa Open in a very windy R1 posting a super 67 but then the wheels fell off for a T60 as conditions eased. This top ranking Irishman will have another good chance of winning on Tour with a stiff 30km/hr westerly wind to blow across and down the course all week to suit him. OWGR #320 Kevin tees off the 10th two slots behind Rory at 8.20am (with another fancy of mine George Coetzee), both players having played well on the 'windy links' at Trophee Hassan finishing T3, two shots behind Ramsey and Wattel. Kevin is also 14's ew 3places in Spoils for Top Irishman w/out Rory he must beat Lowry 7/4, Gmac 10/3, POD, Hoey 12's and BignowSlim Darren. Danny Willet 50's FRL is second group out at 7.40 from the 10th with Donald and Clarke and can also play links golf well as we witnessed at the Alfred Dunhill where 66,69,67 and a final round 76 left him T4 (he could easily have been second). Francesco was T6 in Scotland too with 68,65,70 and another 76 to finish. If only Molinari could putt we could be far more confident as his GIR and straight driving will be a big asset again this week on this tight track. The winner this week will have to 'hold the green' on the wee 7th and treacherous 8th green or face a difficult up'n'down from a bunker or large swale. 100/1 on Rory to have a hole-in-one would be fitting for the Host with the most this week. Fowler, Sergio and Lowry are the same price with the 10th only a wee wedge for them this week. Kelly, wrap up well and bring the hip flash full of rare 21yo Bush as it's a pity it ain't going to be warm. |

the rhino , RCD is a superb course for golfers . Tricky for spectators though , it was not designed for stadium golf .
Quite a few of the greens have natural run offs , the bunkers would not be familiar to most players as the surrounds and exit paths are left rough , being in the bunker sometimes a blessing . Anyone visiting the heavy rough ( gorse quite often ) can forget their ball , they wont find it in 5 minutes never mind play it . I cant turn up any betting on the winning score versus the 71 par , think 8 under would win comfortably unless rain slows up greens dramatically . |

Yeah, was looking for the winning score betting too - much more than -8 I would think. Birdies on 1,3,11,12&13 everyday will be common.

Catchme , only 3 par 5's on the course , 1 , 12 and 18 . Birdie opportunities in good conditions , but against a wind forget the birdie . Weather forecast indicates the (traditional ) westerly breeze , which means every hole except 14 has a cross wind ( if there is wind) . Very few of the guys these days hit straight shots , anyone hitting a consistent draw in windy conditions wont hold many greens .
Ist hole has a 35 yard long green approx , 3 putts not uncommon due to unfamiliarity with green speed . |

Was not following the scoring very closely today ,catchme , but from memory most of those better scores were from those with an early kick off , before weather turned nasty and most of the pros finished up getting their mitts on -- in May ?
