Kennemer Golf Course - 6626 yards - teensy pitch + putt to these guys

Course designer - HS Colt

style - seaside course, pretty much a links course

Short course, wind is key as it's quite exposed

quite undualating but no water hazards.

Seems from reading every man and his dog tell me Accuracy accuracy accuracy - BUT I DONT SEE IT!!

In fact stats are useless for this imo - heres a stat i just put together to show what i mean...

Since 2006 this course has been used 5 times - Heres how many of the top 10 placed ranked in the top 10 of tourney stats.
accuracy - 7 out of 50
drive distance - 2 out of 50!!
greens hit - 13 out of 50
PPG - 11 out of 50
PPR - 9 out of 50

To me this is gunna be won by one of two types...

1) course form - same names near the top pop up time after time

2) Wind players - The 1st day especially looks very windy and the guys who play it well will do well..

I have a few in mind, just going to wait a day see what the markets do -  I have a cunning plan lol :)

One person i have backed already is Marc Warren - wind wizard and stan james made the mistake of opening @ 40/1 - isn't there now!! Wink

Good Luck if u have a go at this one.

My Team is about picked but i have a few which are very dependent on the weather being as it is forecast to be, so i'm going to wait untill Wednesday night before i place the bets - it just seems sensible.

Have backed 4 people who i view as "Liking the course" and think could go really well, also done these for the 1st round leader

Jimenez - Give him a shorter course where he is brought back to a level playing field and he will be around, likes this track with his 2nd to Luiten last year, and in good form as he played a repeat of there match from last year against luiten on Monday and came out on top.

Mcgrane - Must love the track, has 3 top 5 finishes here, alongside the fact he's shown he still has enough game with his 2nd in Russia a few weeks ago, it seems certain he will be milling around the top of the board this week.

D.Clarke - Played this course twice, resulting in a win and a 5th place, With his new found lust for life and shedding the beer gut, he seems to be rejuvenated and loving the game as well as demanding himself to play good golf, which i haven't seen from him in years, The fact it's essentially a links course is the icing really, it'll feel like home to a thoroughbred links man.

Peter lawrie - Had a horrible year but last 2-3 months has shown his game is not a mile away, and with a 3rd round of 62 last week moving to a course he's had two top tens in, at the time of year he likes, i believe he may do well, The 1st rnd leader part especially grabs me with him.

As stated have backed Warren already, due to the price but really he is a part of my wind team so to speak, and will post up Wednesday night with reasoning and selections on the others.

Painful at times isn't it - tomorrow before all the gaps disappear in all honesty, 95% of people outside the top ten are likely going to be bigger tomorrow

Simon Dyson just has to go into this weeks portfolio even if it is just 0.3 win only @ 30/1. He has won this title three times including twice round Kennemer with the other win coming at a different Harry Colt design - Hilversumsche. You will often find players do well on both courses and with Dyson returning to form in Italy last time you leave him out at your peril.
As I have backed Dyson I feel it impossible to leave out Darren Clarke whose scoring average around here in eight rounds is an impressive 66.38 - Dyson is the next lowest at 67.85. Clarke also has a 2nd and 5th around Hilversumche so clearly loves these linksy Ductch courses - probably quite befitting for an Open Champion! The slimline Clarke hasn't fared that well on his attempt at the PGA tour this year but I don't think his career is over quite yet and he keeps firing in some low rounds. If he were ever to win again it would be here on a course where he has won before 0.3 ew 100/1
Biggest bet of the week for me is veteran Australian Richard Green who has finished runner up at each of the two KLM Open venues. He really caught my eye last week at Crans on a course where he has a terrible record - in three previous atempts he had missed the cut each time with a scoring average of 75 yet last week shot 71 64 67 66 to finish 12th. That shows to me he is clearly in good form and now comes to a venue he has a great record at. It has been a few years since his last win but he came close in Spain earlier this year and is definitely a horses for courses type of player 0.5 ew 90/1
Bearing in mind that improved performance at Crans another player caught my eye in the shape of James Morrison. He had played once more than Green but had four missed cuts to his name and an average of 74.25 but something clicked last week with a 66 69 67 69. It seems a long time ago that he burst onto the scene with a 4th at the Colt designed East London course and a win at the coastal exposed Madeira Open but he suffers from bouts of Crohn's disease which explains a lot. His all round game is really solid a the moment and he is worth risking this week 0.25 ew 100/1
Last pick is Gregory Havret who is only worth backing once his ball striking improves and that certainly has been the case since he got married last month. The same thing happened with him this time last year and after a 7th at Crans he was 3rd on his debut on this course - take the hint and have 0.3 ew 90/1

It used to be a big event this one - Very disapointing only 1 ryder cup team member has bothered with it - yes 54 in america can be excused but thats still 7 who have decided not to bother.

poor imo

Don't usually play Euro, but I like this selection, am joining you, win and top 10. Koepka too, matter of time surely, and he's also showed a liking for the links.

I'd worked it out as well Angry

I like having a big team but was getting silly - This week i decided to just back to a level stake 15 runners - but a mixed bag of runners, i.e. This week i have - 3 below 50 - 7 upto 250 - then 5 biggie's up to a 1000, backed them to win £1000 each after stakes - cost £220.

Then sit back, watch some golf and maybe have a short priced trade if any went low....DONE...!

16 Minutes later!! i'm adding a player bringing total to £250 lol Sad

I dont do the short priced stuff and wont be doing this bet but closing in on 2/1 joost Luiten for top ten has got to be a bet imo, defending, at home, 4th last week, he's going to be around!
think win markets too skinny on him, hence aint a pick but that looks value imo.
