Reed is huge.  And his price is pretty generous, too.

Very early days, but the distances they are hitting it this scoring could get silly.

What with the TV companies......PGA feature group starts 8 30 pm and golf channel/NBC starts 11 pm GMT.....or is this info wrong?

@Quincy....when using greening up function on my software and can green up for a profit on each golfers but some are 'greened' up (should be 'red up') for a small loss. The amount greened up is higher than the 'red up' so still a profit on the book. If i were to back @ 40 £100...sell @42 £100, i will get my stake back in full but the golfer will have -£200 instead of losing £5 across the board....God forbid if that golfer went on to win.

Sit and suffer job for a while, I think.  Have got 5 of the top eight though.  Taken my stake out of Bowditch and done a bit of trading with Rose.

The trouble with trading is the fact that your stake is usually much higher, and if it goes wrong it can be fatal!Sometimes I think that backing lots of golfers at much lower stakes is probably a better option???

You need to red out on any mistakes with the higher stakes if it goes the wrong way before the start sheppy. Gotta take the good with the bad. You can't start with a $500 liability on one player if all your other greens are trades that equal $30-$50 bets at current prices. If you don't have the discipline to do that you will get yourself in trouble and should just stick to backing those you fancy with stakes you are happy to risk. Hope this helps.

Thanks rhino, that makes a lot of sense. I prefer to trade on bigger priced golfers with low stakes, than putting loads on people like Rory. So if things don't go my way I haven't lost much.

Saying that, it all adds up and long term it could be costly.

I have never layed anything at a price bigger than I've backed. Maybe I need to start doing this???

I need to do some thinking...Crazy

Hope its not another runaway win for Rory 2.52 ish now with 3 .5 rounds to go has to be a lay at that price

Problem is laying Rory is now on the same lines as laying AP and Stephen Hendry in his pomp

Fair play, with the early scoring I thought this course might be a but of a joke but it's held up well, level is a decent score.  If a bit of rain softens the greens could still see some low ones though as they get used to the altitude calculations.

I think the next three days are going to be a struggle.  Laid to back Rory three times to ease the pain a bit. The next move might be a back to lay.

I've got lucky with my trading cos a few hours ago it was looking quite cactusy!

works out at 252 ish that par 3. - as if thats any easier lol - easy way to know the true yardage on this course is just use the distances for each hole as metres, and imagine they are yards, accurate enough for our needs.

Ski... Well I have to be careful cos I get influenced quite easily and before long it could be part of my limited vocabulary!Laugh

Anyway, I'm quite pleased with the way my trading has gone so far. BUT... There's still plenty of time for things to go pear-shaped!Laugh

Speith +£69.22
Bubba +£90
Henley +£320
Howell III +£100
Hadley +£160
Every +£343.30
Villegas +£60
Kelly +£242
Stroud +£80
Compton +£300
McGirt +£80
Jacobson +£160
Holmes +£80
Leishman +£200
Streelman +£100
Reed (waste of space!) +£300
MacKenzie +£560
Bohn +£120

The field -58p

Phew! My hands are in a bad way and it was painful typing all that out. There must be an easier way???

It's amazing how things can suddenly turn around. As usual I got totally carried away backing any old Tom, Dick & Harry and when it started my trading position was not good! Then as the night progressed it got better and better.

Good luck everybody...Happy

Strange things happening with Cash-Out.  Last night, I was losing £119, first thing this morning it was £91, now it's £89.  As far as I know it's still dark in Colorado.  I'll be cashing out, win or lose, sometime Sunday afternoon.

Last thing, anyone know how I connect my Ipad to Sky Go.

sheppy123, just have £2.00 on Speith at 17, then lay £3 Speith at 17.5. Field £0.42, all the other win you £1.00 less, sorted, stress-free and then just lay any of your winners as they shorten up.

Thanks Quincy. You've got me thinking here... There's been a few developments since my last post so at the moment I'm gonna leave things as they are.

I've still got a lot to learn. I'm way behind compared to a lot of guys on here.

Just one more thing...

The reason for the -58p is cos I backed Spieth @ 60 (£7.58) and layed @ 55 (£7). I may try and get the 58p back somewhere along the line???

Sorry for taking over the thread!Laugh
