The other course looked good. I parked there one year for the matchplay and it looked good.

I've played it a few times. Its a really fantastic layout. Only slight negative for me, is that it gets massively overused and isnt in great nick alot of the time. And its normally really slow!

Just got on their website. Summer green fees 650 Aussie dollars Shocked Surely not, it doesn't look that good. Makes it more expensive than Pebble. Who is paying that amount of money for a round of golf there Confused

Have backed Bjorn, but seriously thinking of making him my worst at 9/2 with three and a half rounds to go.

Basically means they don't want you there, but if you're rich and/or silly enough to part with that sort of cash they'll take it and tolerate your presence for a few hours. Are all the quality courses over there super expensive?

Super expensive is relative......a millionaire would think....ah its only 'pennies'.

All of the big named courses are over priced rhino. The Brabazon is crazy money for what it is, especially considering The Belfry is an absolute dump. But there is so much corporate golf, and they all want to play these courses, so they get away with charging it.

Wentworth also has one of the most affluent memberships in the country, who pay alot of money to be members.... so they can afford to charge a premium for visitors.

The Belfry is an absolute dump.

If so then what do you call a local council owned golf course?

Yeah I understand how it works, it's just on another level to over here. Royal Melbourne is about 200 odd Aussie dollars for visitors, and that is Royal Melbourne, most definitely not a dump! Where does the every day London man go for a round if he wants a real treat, say under 100?

I meant the hotel Ski. If you are paying a premium for a top class golf resort, you would expect a decent hotel imo.

I l;ive in the North West rhino, but have plenty of mates and clients in London and there isnt many 'treats' for under £100!

Outside London......plenty of golf courses. If one lives in inner London then forget about golf as it's too much hassle travel wise and not practical.

I would expect many golfers around London lives outside London but work in London.

I thought the hotel was or being renovated? If so you need another visit.

Yes it was going to be renovated last time I was there... not sure if it is still in progress or finished yet? Sure it will be alot better when its done, it certainly needed it.

This is sad. I have a voucher for Moonah Links on my e-mail, hosted 2 Australian Opens. 2 players, a cart and range balls for $99. 27 British pounds per player Cool

One of my best mates has just moved to Adelaide and he was saying the same about down there.

Unfortunately, its just not like that here. Golf is generally very expensive.

There are excellent golf course to play on for under £50 in the midlands and north......Around London is costly due to land shortages. Do remember Rhino, UK is way way way smaller than Australia.

I don't think you will miss your mate too long. If he moved to Adelaide, he'll be itching to come home real bloody quick! Adelaide is Australia's cure to insomnia.

Yeah I know ski. But most of Australia is uninhabitable, land around the actual cities here is very pricey here too but I suppose not quite the same and we don't have the population. Have played a bit in Asia, Bali and Thailand. Everything there is cheap as chips, eat lobster daily but golf... farking expensive. For tourists only basically.
