Hi all, this is my first time using the forum so I hope all you experts out there can help me, help a friend out. My friend has backed Felipe Aguilar and JB Holmes to win the 2 tournaments this weekend. He's unsure of the odds he got as he's left his betting slip at work but he thinks he's got at least 66/1 & 50/1 on both which equates to a 3417/1 double. His bet with **** was 2 x €2.50e/w singles and a 50c e/w double. He doesn't have an account with Betfair so I've offered to help him out should he wish to lay Holmes as I have an account with B/F. He doesn't fancy Holmes to win the tourny especially with Big Phil breathing down his neck. I see that Holmes can be layed at 3.35 at the moment. Any advice on how to guarantee a nice return for my friend would be much appreciated...I have had a look at the hedging calculator on Oddschecker and do understand the calculations. If anyone knows how to retrieve the odds from **** for Wed afternoon, that would be handy to confirm the actual odds.
I would look to lay £200 if touches evens and another £300 at 1.5 in order to lock in a nice profit but no need to do it too soon as your pal has already made a nice profit and JB Holmes is in a good position. Also take into account that holes 5, 7 & 10 are par 5's and 8 is short par 4 which should suit JB. He may start to get nervous after that if he still leads. Good luck.

Thanks Lion King, just speaking to him and I think he's going to stick with Holmes for the win..could be a long night for him especially watching the last 3 holes, thanks again.

seems we get this problem on here all the time, and there is no right or wrong answer
if you want the big win, let it ride
if you aint comfortable then lay some off now and/or some later
tell him to spend the winnings wisely

I advised him to lay it and take approx E800 profit from his overall bet of E6 and enjoy watching it, I think Phil will win easily...then again every time I've laid a golfer in a good position, they've nearly always gone on to win the tourny...(Adam Scott v Cabrera last year in play off) I've also told him to give me a shout if Holmes starts well and odds reduce should he wish to lay off, only problem with that strategy is he'll be even keener to go for the big win if he has a 3-4 shot lead...last 3 holes could be interesting!

Thanks for posts folks, my friend rode it out with JB for a bet of a lifetime...wouldn't mind he's not even sure what he's going to collect as he left his betting slip at work over the weekend and he's not sure what odds he got, big diff between 2 x 66/1 shots and 2 50/1 shots....keep you informed of his next big DOUBLE!
