Matsuyama is battling wrist problems cob.
Just watching Tiger's interview on the PGA website. He says the longest shot he's hit since Sunday is 60 yards. He hasn't looked at the new Doral yet - he's going to walk it this afternoon. He's not playing it, just chipping and putting. He's still feeling a bit stiff ( that's what she said )I'm not one to write Tiger off, but if he can win under these circumstances it will be extremely impressive. |

im of the school of thought that course and previous form will hold up...

More from Tiger - he's confident he won't be restricted tomorrow. Wants to stay number one but he thinks Adam Scott would deserve it if he takes it off Tiger this week. He didn't enjoy explaining to his daughter why he quit mid-round last week (because he couldn't twist during his swing). Says the limited prep this week is similar to (last year?) when he won at Bay Hill. Is frustrated by the injury, but will tweak his routines to try and limit further injuries.
And that's about it ![]() |

It's all about the back bustino. If that's fine for four days you could easily see Tiger in the mix. I guess that's why he's second favourite

I'll be honest. I don't usually put much thought into the players I back. I follow golf pretty much every week so I have a rough idea of what I consider to be value. As for knowing what conditions suit each player, then forget it. I'm no 'Muppet' or 'Rhino' and have a lot to learn.
Anyway, here's some of my analysis for you, see what you think... Firstly... Jimenez - I just feel like people have gotten a bit carried away with the odds. He's already had a win this season, and finished 10th in the Abu Dhabi which was a good field. So he's obviously capable of winning. Dawie Van Der Walt - I didn't know much about him till I looked him up. The fact that he was 9th in the Qatar Masters makes 950 look quite appealing. I just can't help myself! Russell Henley - Confidence is everything and this guy will feel like he's reached another level after winning the Honda. So climb aboard baby! I'm already thinking of what I'm gonna spend my winnings on! ![]() |

It’s provided year-in and year-out a dramatic finish for the golf course so we really didn’t think it needed any changing.” Added Trump: “We actually lifted the fairway about a foot and a half of sand, and we moved the green over just slightly. But it’s an identical green, moved over slightly, it’s actually a little bit longer. We moved it over slightly because we didn’t like seeing cinderblock holding up the green. “So we moved the green over because now, if you notice, one of the things that a lot of the players are saying is that they have never seen grass that goes into the water so beautifully. Well underneath you have shale, but they didn’t have any shale there, or they knocked it out probably during construction many years ago. “We have a hole that’s essentially the same hole but much higher quality in terms of grassing in terms of weather. If it rains, you can see the same thing as I told you about before. It’s going to hold up beautifully. But essentially it’s the same hole but it’s really beautified.” |

There's going to be a bit of guesswork involved in trying to pick the winner of this event due to the refurb/rebuild that's taken place since the 2013 edition of this tournament.Reading between the lines though it looks like they've gone down the route of trying toughen the course up in certain ways but at the same time make it playable for the amateurs who will play it the other 51 weeks of the year.
I've gone with two players anyway... Keegan Bradley - E/W @ 28s.Not had that breakout week so far this season but playing away steadily and he does seem to play the tough courses well.Resides in Florida and did have a good record here before the changes. Nick Watney - Top 5 @ 16s and win only @ 100s.On the face of not doing well at all this season but I was encouraged by a closing 67 at the Honda last week in which he also ended the week 4th in the GIR stats. That counts for something on a track as tough as PGA National.I think there's light at the end of the tunnel for him and I'm sure in spite of the changes which have radically altered Doral since last year,he'll still be looking forward to a return to a place where he was has won and been runner up previously. Good luck with yours, looking forward to seeing how this plays out. |

Pretty big storm heading towards Florida for this afternoon, might not get finished in time if it hits them. At least we'll get to see how big Don's changes hold up to a battering.

Is the weather expected to be similar to yesterday for the duration of tournament?
|
|
By:
Before the stoppage for the storm yesterday my bets were looking very miserable, then after they came back Woodland has battled away now is even through 15 and Dustbin looking solid on 2 under... just hope they can finish off their rounds strong this morning..
Weather forecast when I looked earlier was pretty windy all day starting at around 11 mph and getting upto 17 mph for most of the day then right at the end of the day possibly dying down a touch; by this time though most of the field should be finished.... Some rain overnight I think too, so course may have softened a touch, and will be windy... So definetely need to back players good in the wind, Dustin!!! |
