Does anyone here back and lay pre golf tournament to get a free bet or profit and make a consistent profit? Is there a knack to knowing which way the market will move?I have tried to analyse this over a number of weeks but am only finding 50/50 success?
I tend to be betting with bookies most weeks as like to get the e/w 6th place however I have dabbled in this a few times and I see it there are a couple of key points as follows:
Firstly you have to be in early, basically before the bookies prices are up and have a fairly clear idea in your mind as to how they will price it. A perfect example was this week in Fedex St Jude where on Sunday evening and in to Monday you could back Stallings on here at 60 & 55.
It was fairly obvious his price with bookies would be considerably shorter based on current form & the fact he lives locally so there was a good opportunity for a 'free' bet there.
Secondly the extension to that is to have an idea in your mind who the 'jolly' will be in the week, such as Palmer this week or who the most followed tipsters will put up and again look to get in early. You might not fancy them yourself but there's no harm in having a free run or obviously trading out for a profit before a balls struck.
Good luck!

imo unless you;re betting knight rider amounts, u will generally only be able to get a free bet most times pre tourney. sure you may have a piddly little green but hardly worth the effort.
i mean, if you back someone at 60's for $100 and some tipster picks him and he comes down to 50's, the most profit you can bank is $20 either way by laying him for 120 @ the 50.
if that's worth it to you then shake and bake go for it.

if yer fancy someone to go well, it's worth it (always worth trying to work a freebie!) but find normally you've got to get on very early (sunday/Monday) & then follow what the books are offering to work any trades. the other times are wed am as the money starts to come on.
