Think there will be a surprise winner this week I know the English lads have a great record but I can't have any of them Donald has been poor this season and his once brilliant putting is now suspect. The once best closer on tour lee Westwood is now a massive choker and justin rose is the worst putter I have ever seen. Sterne for me

Not a bad first day for my selections Mannasero, Westwood, Grace and Colsaerts. Satisfied with all their efforts, bar Colsaerts whose putting let him down. Going to be a big day tomorrow with all the scheduled rain and wind. I can see the Cut being around +3 or +4 tomorrow with scoring very difficult.

im quite happy that i jumped on westwood just before his round but i keep looking at the scoreboard and the forcast weather for tomorrow and i notice that Kingston has played some good rounds in his career when its nasty conditions so i gotta back him @40's not something i usually do but i got a feeling hes gonna hang around till sunday.

It's going to be windy today, got to think anything under par will be right in it.
Khan will hang around hopefully, would love Havret, Bourdy, Kruger to have good days. Got a lot around level par to -3 under.

My head has comepletely gone. Just sitting here looking at two screens, no idea what to do. Two red highlights at the start, Kaymer and Grace, two lays, both well back, backed three of the afternoon starters, all over 500, one of those (Khan) is 3 under and it still doesn't look good. I don't think I'm a morning person.

Brought everything up to date, doesn't look too bad now. Paid for all the afternoon bets by laying Khan at less than a tenth of what I backed him at. The other two afternoon bets were Fleetwood and Havret, so I might have chances there. Nuts are no longer on the line with Donald and Rose. Might make Rose a winner, if the weather improves a little. Good luck with yours.

Colsaerts making a charge for me at the right time. Hope he can get at least 1 more birdie on one of these big par 5s on the back 9. Good call going for Khan pre-tournament.
Having said that, typical Westwood putting is letting his round down again. The only player in his group not to get his birdie putt on that whole which wasn't difficult.

OH no...........In the words of Victor Meldrew, ' I don't beliiiieeeevvvveee it'.
Looking at my greens on S Khan......Backed S Khan during the week at 380 and was suppose to lay for a trade at 280 but for some reason i can't quite fathom, i'd put 380 for the lay......no blooming profit.....what a blunder?.
On at 44 and traded out.

Lee looks a bit short now. Might have too lay him, even just as lay to back, being 3 back. A good finish from Darren would be useful, as would Kaymer, Lowry, Grace and Ramsay. This isn't looking too bad now. Good luck with yours.

Paul McGinleys comments were I thought very relevant . Basically the rejigging of the Wentworth course was OK if you were prepared to play golf through the air , whereas the orignal design allowed you to use the natural contours and in part to thwart bad weather etc . Current course is designed for high summer play , with little wind .
So I reckon you dont play a big tournament there unless you are pretty sure of decent weather . We here had a magnificent day today , sun , heat , little wind , but the weather at Wentworth was dire . Thursday and Friday have proved that the course is not to everyones taste , particularly in poor weather , Padraig not alone now in his view I suspect .
The demise of a lot of the bigger names has robbed the tournament of a lot of interest .

Change of weather will bring some good scoring in today, lots of the "big boys" gone this could go to somebody at the moment par or even +1....had a few pennies on Storm.....

I post at 5 o'clock, by half past, my four at 1 under have all dropped a shot!!!!! Just looked at the Crowne Plaza, should have just backed the same team as last week. Kuchar, DeLaet, Speith and Palmer, 1st, 2nd and joint third. Still looking at the Westwood lay. Taken some out, what to do with the rest now.

Prize money for the world match play was the same as for beating 155 others this week . Hard to keep the concentration etc going for 2 weeks plus , although he did look like he was trying , unlike his compadre who looked like he didn't want to be out there in the conditions . But the threads re Rory are full of "explanations" when he plays badly in tough conditions , he just does not like them . Strange that someone who traded down to 5/1 or less misses the cut ( easily) . Surely those who back Rory look occasionally at the weather forecasts ?

Its like Florida today again ,xmoneyx . 23 degrees when I was out perambulating this morning . Need it though , our course is 2 months behind also grasswise . My garden is just about not soggy , and its well drained . Think our course was closed every other day from Christmas to end April for one reason or another , mainly wet .
