THE PLAYERS.

Back out in 45 mins.....

Laid some Mahan at 10s, ust gone back in at 30s. Still red and still not good but a chance of getting out of this, a few Mahan birdies should see me back to level.

Don't worry rhino...plenty of time to turn it around.

Taken a bit of maggy and marc as cover.

Back out now........

Are they back out or not.......?....just wondering why my dosh on Woody got matched at 2.5

Every fecking week there's delays

Is it me but surely Tiger is rather short so early in proceedings

It is you as Tiger went under 2 earlier........

bit stingy considering his record here.

His record is completely irrelevant right now.

guess your right there rhino.

Any sign of play??

back I think...

Well done Marc

Leishman becoming quite a player

Sergio is a sour git

i wish somebody would put some distance between mcginley and the microphone

lol

Truly amazing how often these guys make par after shocking tee shots leave them with gaps to go through or they've gone so far off course they have a clear line through the green. Tis a flaw in the yank golf course design imo

Eagle for Lingmerth..........now i know what he looks like.

I might even get out of this.

Lingmerth should be fav not Woodio

come on lingy lad ive got you 3rd round leader

Is he a dwarf?

I couldn't give a fook if he's jimmy cranky in disguise hold on li gy son.

His price is dwarfing....

Have they stopped playing?............plenty of light left IMO.

Nah its dark now. Play stopped for the day

Course showed some teeth today. Hope for more of the same tomorrow

What price should Lingmerth be for a top 5 finish?

1.7

Rollocks....there's plenty of light.

Cheers Ski.

Is that your ton trying to lay him?

Yes.

Anyone knows what time they re-start tomorrow?

Want to lay him but 1.7 seems a bit big.

Aaagh...I jinxed the poor lad.

Lumped on at 110 at 12.31 today. Either just before my 12.32 post.

Only get 110 Quincy.

Couldn't resit adding to original 4.

Stenson @ 75
Oosthuizen @ 75
Flowler @ 71
Richard H Lee @ 70 (Top 5.)

David Lingmerth @ 100 (Top 10) and 330 (Top 5)
Michael Thompson @ 64 (Top 5)

380 for me then 120 6.30ish am.......Laid off all the greens at 9 and re-backed at 10....now my biggest green of the lot.

Hopefully by the end of round 3 Stenson, Garcia, Wood finishes at 9 or lower.

330 top 5 is better than my 380 to win.

If you got 330 why is 1.7 too big???

Tight c@@t.

Don't like giving away value.

After watching the carry on of Tiger and Sergio this 3rd round, none was an example of the manner in which golf should be played. If you do not like each other you should at least be civil. I have no doubt that they unknowingly had a negative impact on each others game. If they are drawn together tomorrow for the final round you could have more of the same and neither will win anything. But, as is more probable, they will be seperated, then everything is up for grabs.

Super Hans, if I hadn't been reading the forum, I wouldn't even have known his first name.  I'm highly delight with my 110.

Nice round by Kyle Stanley, chances of a Top 20 now? I recon it must be about evens? Gotta be an advantage he has already finished the others will be having very long days.....

Very long days? WTF are you talking about?

Long day? Well all the players not finished their rounds will have to start early to finish their rounds then tee times are reset and have to play again, it'll be a 10 hour day for them from tee off to finish, hence long day..

They have all but finished their rounds. Four holes max. in the morning. Off to the range for an hour, a bit of lunch then down to the chipping and putting greens while they wait their tee times. Doesn't sound too strenuous to me. I don't see it having the slightest effect on your bet. If he plays well enough he'll stay in the top 20. I hope he does it for you.

I'm surprised Quincy and Ski have admitted to not knowing David Lingmerth this week. The bloke was in a playoff earlier in the year - I thought everyone on here would know him from that if nothing else.

He's continuing a trend of 1000-1 guys giving the title a shake! Whatever Ernst had last week is catching! He stole Maggert (and Maggot's) thunder today

Ski and Quincy forgiven, Who the feck is Lingmerth?

What time do they plan on resuming third round....and any idea if they plan on starting earlier than planned for final round in case of further weather delays??

Resume 12.10 BST. Final round final pairing expected 19.38 BST

miss anomaly, if you saw my spreadsheet, you wouldn't be surprised.  There have been times this week when I haven't known exactly who I've backed and for how much. All I know for certain is that, after being greedy with Tiger and waiting for 10/1, refusing to take 9/1 when I knew it would be a good trade if nothing else, I have spent three days looking at a dirty big red at the top of the market.  My rule used to be if he was less than 7/2, I laid him.  If he was over 7/2, I backed him.

Am now going to check to see if I can green up.  If I can, I will and hope for a miracle from the likes of Oosthuizen, Zach, O'Hair and Simpson.

thoughts on who wins from here then?

I only got woods small green and palmer nice green in with a shout, thinking of adding one more player from the 9 - 8 under group maybe david lynn at the price

hard to see past tiger.....has the 16th to play and with an eagle or birdie i feel its all over..........was working all weedend and was gutted by simpsons finish yesterday backed him sat nite @ 90s and 3 under after 4 dropped 5......not into shroties so throwin few quid at ryan palmer to hopefully have interest tonite

if palmer wins he will be the biggest price winner I have ever backed had a fiver @ 435 lol

Fair enough Quincy, good luck :)

Lingermouth seems a good price still.

I can't believe Tiger is so short. He is my only danger really. I am not covering him yet at these odds on a course he struggles with.

After last week I'm not sure you could be too confident on anyone. What odds would an Ernst win over Lynn in a playoff have been paying going into round 4?

Bustino, if he birdies 16 it is far from over, still has 17 and 18 to negotiate not to mention round 4 People do love to call it early on the forum.

I know that ernst was 150/1 in a bookies at 2pm (uk time) last sunday.

Plan A is a failure.  Now to plan B, reduce my liabilities and back David Lynn.  Like eric, I think Tiger is too short, given the way he played yesterday, and I couldn't possibly back him at 6/4.  But it could all change today, is he likely to have two bad days in a row.   Not sure about Lingmerth, he was very impressive again yesterday, but can he keep making those long putts.

Without doubt the value is Maggert and Lingmerth. Anything can happen here,

Agree with eric on Maggert, should be about 33/1 in my book.

Maggert can play and this course should suit him, not too long! 70s is terrific value, just turned him into my biggest winner. Lingmerth anything could happen. Tiger Garcia and Stenson will be lucky to get in the clubhouse at 10 under. If Lingmerth stays at 12 under then at a push the 6 unders have a chance.

Q it's probably maggot still controlling the market on him, as somebody says the threads title could be a classic.

My betting will depend on who is paired with who in the final round.

I am hoping Garcia and Tiger are paired together again, there is obvious needle between them and they could distract each other. Stenson and Lingmerth could help each other.

Tiger started yesterday @2/1 played poorly and is now 6/4 definetly bad value

Whatever Ernst had last week is catching!

Yes it was all him.......i had nothing on him and had to green up a £8 ish profit and did the same the week before when Horshel won. So this week anyone who looks in with a chance will get some of my dosh on him and i'm glad i did.

@Quincy 'Am now going to check to see if I can green up.'

Does your Gruss software have a greening up/hedging function?

Yes, Ski.  You can auto-level, do it on a tick basis or a percentage basis.   Doesn't work if you are trying to work out the stakes and prices for ten or twelve players at a time.  That's why I use a spreadsheet and then juggle the stakes about.  There are a load off other options that I've never used.

Just looked at Lingmerth career.....

Eurotour - zilch except for 2 games in Sweden

PGA tour, 1st season, came 2nd once, mostly missed the cut.

Very poor and if he wins this, it would be an amazing achievement, probably break some records.

Now i don't feel too confidence. Hope he has nerves made from titanium.

I'm having a look at Greg Chalmers now.  And possibly Overton, Stricker and Streelman for bits and pieces.

I see Quincy.....mine has a column showing how much stake to lay or back to green up.

If things get close, where the winner could be anyone, on the Sunday on the back nine, what i do is look at 2 to 4 players who will win and balance them out then use dutching method on those players and lump on. In effect increase the greens on those players equally then sit back and watch the drama unfold.

Long, straight drivers, puts for fun.
Birdies, Eagles everyone.
Through the rain, a glimpse of sun.
I've looked at golf this way.
But now the 'tips' are getting less.
Some of you have made a mess.
Lingmerth value ? Or valueless ?
'Till Woods got in his way.
Yes I've looked at this from both sides now,
From good and bad, and still somehow,
It's Woods the genius I recall,
I really can't see past him....at all !

Shakespearean.

bogey coming up for the leader, cant see him getting to the green

Nice poem.........you deserve a tot of whisky.

Heinz, after that prose, you deserve to watch one of your collection of Neil lennon videos.

Tiger , close in for birdie.

Sergio bottling it early.

S'funny you should say that.....

Lingmerth hit a tree, what a fool, had an open shot to the green.

once again i have no clue whats going on, is this on sky now?

Heinz, blinkers bad, open mind good.

love watching shot tracker..

it is live here.

Going to concentrate on 1 thread, the final day thread, can't be flicking between the two. See you lot over there.

westwood about to birdie 17

cheer aberdonia

Lynn looks a fair price to me. 50 at the books with 16 or so for the 1,2,3. Clearly playing some of the best golf of his life ATM.
Whittenberg, Mahan, Palmer are my only winners in the mix, so to speak!

Have had to admit to myself that Tiger looks to be the man to go with. Backed him back at odds on after laying him at 3.17. A lot of red around I am afraid but will not be too bad if Tiger DOES win.

joint leader 17th

awesome call

Don't stick your balls in the water, there may something nasty in there...

Jeff Maggert @ 1000

Nice tip even in defeat, e/w with the bookies?  best price?

This was my 1st tournament in 7 months to lose money. Very disappointed but still, the performance up to this weekend was good. My weekly profits were not huge but the amounts added up to a nice little earner. Onwards and upwards for this week. Bulgaria might be interesting. Made an error in not laying Mickleson in Sawgrass after intending to do so but his odds are getting longer by the week.

Well done to all the punters who backed Tiger from the start. It will keep his odds for next while very very tight indeed and there will be plenty opportunities to make a profit in laying him. Even if it is only to trade the price. I expect Snedeker to get his A game back and Sergio will bust a gut trying to get a major this year , if only to get back at Tiger. Well done to Maggot on his Maggert pick. Presume you traded for a nice profit.

Getting back at Tiger? Its never as simple as that especially in golf. Cant see Sergio winning a major. It will be a while before we have 23 and/or 10 against Rory and Tiger pre-tournament again,
