There really isnt any skill picking the winner now. All the players must think this has turned into a bit of a farce and hence probably throw caution to the wind:)! Any number of 20 players can win this one now, complete lottery.
Anyway, hopefully they wont dilly dally around again. If they start on time, then finish the tournament, no more suspensions. No point any further delays, just cancel the darn thing if they cant start on time and let us move onto the Sony. |

So it's cancelled......glad i didn't waste any more time on this.
However over 400 posts and over 11,000 views for the first 'tournament' of the year.........is good and i, along with many on here, hopes this continues. A bit of banter doesn't do any harm.  |

It's not cancelled. Two rounds scheduled for today and one tomorrow and looking at the weather forecast I actually think they will play the three rounds. Slightly less wind both days compared to what have been, just enough to be able to play.
They may not be able to finish both rounds today though as winter days are shorter even at Hawaii, but that wouldn't be a big problem. They'll just play the last few holes of round two in the tuesday morning before the third and final round. |

There's certainly some players who are more likely to win than others right...I have my views, you can have yours...bottomline is I'll just be happy to see some flippin golf at last, trade in-play is probably the best bet

Doubt they will play. Any gusts above 40mph and its unplayable with forecast 25-30mph its hard to see it not gusting above 40mph.

Interesting again off the two tees. Such a disadvantage going off 10, or is it? If it dies down later, the no.1 tees have it, if it keeps going stronger, the other way.

The tournament is considered official if 54 holes are played, with the winner getting an invitation into next year’s Hyundai Tournament of Champions. If only 36 holes are played, it would be an “unofficial” win with no Hyundai invitation, but money would be included in a golfer’s total. If only 18 holes are played, the $5.7 million purse is cut in half and money is unofficial.
So 36 holes still counts as Fex Ex points...therefore counts on Betfair too? |

36holes counts for points for fedex but its not official win on pga tour and thats what bookies pay out on.

Alot of commentators having been spouting on about Dustin Johnson having won a couple of times in events cut short to 54 holes, reckon that must be it Harter, plus his power in this wind, and he did pretty well in adverse conditions at the Open when Clarkey won it. Is that ok Richard? Or should I PM you to approve first next time  |

This is a bit confusing with the high street bookies
WH golf rule #1 "In tournaments affected by adverse weather or where the number of rounds scheduled to be played are reduced for any other reason, outright bets will be settled on the official result regardless of the number of rounds played" PGA are saying 54 holes = an official win, 36 holes = an unnofficial win I guess the PGA's use of 'official' isn't in the literaly sense and refers to the added bits and bobs, and a 36 hole winner is an offocial, unnoficial winner if that makes sense I don't know whether to cheer my players on or hope they fck up and I get a refund. Worse case scenario, is leading after 36, Tuesday being cancelled and WHs taking the PGA's 'unnoficial winner' as gospel and refunding my stake |

great start by dustin johnson ive traded for green all round hes about to lead as well i think theres only me and one other who tipped dustin to win this as i said he doesnt 3 putt often and the way hes playing a -8 is on the cards for this round boom
