love  the way sky advertise live golf at 5.00 a.m and when you get up to watch the live golf it is highlights  from earlier in the day and when  eventually due to be shown at 7.30 ish play is suspended and they decide to show the same highlights again.

love the way at about half nine the female presenter said ''well weve been suspended now for a few hours but good news at last, there will be no more play today..erm good news for the players anyway''

so anyway with storms forecast all week and the chances of a shortened tournament a possibility, where does the value lie, bearing in mind a lot of the field have to play up to 30 holes in quick succession. is it worth getting with one or two of the score posters ie bjorn or casey in the anticipation of a reduced tourney?

There's plenty of chances for somebody to be well ahead of cases by the time he gets back on the course

Harrington posts a 74. Chance gone I think. It is very difficult to fathom out what to do. In my case I am waiting on McIlroy to win his 1st round 3 ball. Looks good so far. He is level, Oosty + 2 and and Thaw + 3 at the turn.

Is there any reason why the organisers cannot continue the tournament into Monday if necessary ?

I would imagine the bank would love the extra exposure, especially seen as there is no Tiger this week either.

Ouch. McIlroy - 1 and Oosty level playing 18th. My 3 ball bet. C'mon Rory.

Knew it. Oosty birdies the last to tie and does me out of my 3 ball bet. Very small stake so no real harm done. Just my ego. lol

+1 is the cut off mark for Singapore Open.

@ Croweseye.... Owe you an apology of sorts. I think Monty made the cut.

Phil Mickleson on an early flight back home also.

And I did not know that dead heat rules applied in 3 ball bets. Got my stake back. Nice surprise.

Hang on. Am I losing it. The Asian Tour website shows the cut mark at + 1 but there is only one round played. That cannot be correct.

Rory McIlroyis now level par tru 11 holes of round 2. Still 6 adrift and heading for 9.00. I am tempted.

I do not want to harp on or bore you with Rory feed but there is something amazing going on with the market. 10.00 to back and 17.50 to lay. I took some at 16.00 . There must be some explanation but it is behond me at present. No doubt we will hear more later.

That cut at +1 is only estimated or projected and will change according to the top 70.

tobe i reckon rory is underpriced if anything..lets be generous and assume he ekes out two more birdies to finish his 2nd round on -3, there are so many players that can pull away from him, players with a full round to play..casey, bjorn as examples. But the real fly in the ointment is the likelihood of a 54 hole tournament and imo he should be 25/1 at least

i dont know if there is provision for a reserve day but last years tournament was decided after 54 holes

I think the reason you won't see an extension into Monday is down the fact of what else is going on in the golfing world next week. The Australian Masters is being played in Melbourne(Adam Scott definitely playing there and i would guess a good few of The Asian Tour playing Aussies) and also 2 Euro Tour events. The Hong Kong Open doesn't cause a problem as it's only a 3 or 4 hr flight from Singapore but you also have The South African Open next week, which will be a problem. You have quite a few South Africans playing this week and also in their national open next week,so i can't see how they could have a Monday finish here.

@p a lapsy....thank you for the enlightenment on the cut......@sweetchildofmine......last shot I saw from McIlroy was a drive into a hazard. Not sure but it was just before the 2nd hooter for lightening....... I have laid Rory already. Just a couple of holes ago. The prices I laid averaged out 14.8....  way too high for my normal lay....      just have an inkling that you are correct about 25/1. I thought about 20/1 but I AM factoring in 54 holes only.

Went in to lay McIlroy again, now bringing my averale lay @ 10.98. That is a more realistic price but still above my usual lay price. The factors in favour of laying him are well outlined by

tobe when you say drove into a hazard do you mean water?

Looked like rough over red hazard line but not water. Can't be sure though Plain

hmm either way wont be making birdie from there i assume so a lay at the current price is low risk ..

sorry to harp on but even if theres no more interruptions, unlikely as that is, ..is there any possibility of 72 holes bearing in mind its day three and some of the field havnt started round two and wont do for quite some time
By:

Yep, Rory just shy of hazard but looks a horrible lye, might be 70 yard chip out only, so very possible of at least a bogey. A good lay at present if you were sure only 54 holes, over 72 could be a different matter though.

Given a good run, weather wise tomorrow, i don't see why they cant get right back on track. Play 2 tees for third round, they should get it well over halfway, even if you allow for a delay of 90 min or so along the way. Can drop a few players for Sunday, and get out and complete it early. ok, if the weather as bad tommorrow as today, then its curtains!! Hoping for 72 holes, gives Scott much better chance to get in the hunt.

18 holes a day at this time of the year in Singapore takes a lot out of you . Weather / humidity etc , those with a clean run at 18 holes a day will have an advantage .

Money would be on a 54 hole tournament though .

unlikely rory will bogey as 13th is a par 5
By:

When: 09 Nov 12 14:48
ive zero'ed my green on rory for now but i'll be monitoring the weather and the par five hole that rory is currently struggling on, if the weather looks ok and rory gets out of the hole with at least a par i'll look at getting back with him..but he would need 72 holes definitely

beware if youre thinking of backing dyson...he has a bogey putt when they resume play
