Actually a lot of substance in his comment.
From 1997 to 2007 Tiger was in the top 12 in driving distance,2008 44th,2009 21st,2010 26th,2011 71st,2012 30th. Its a fact his length was one of his great weapons,particilarly on the par 5's. When he dominated golf the likes of Mcilroy,Oosthuizen etc werent around,fact is a lot drive it further than him now and play fairway to green as well if not better. So that said where does Woods hold any advantage?well he still has that drive and will to win but there has to be a massive question mark over wether he has the weaponry to do it in the majors when all the top players are there. 2008 us open was Woods last major win,no Mcilroy or Oosthuizen,2 players that have since won majors by 8 shots and 7 shots respectively. |

Remind me who is number 1 for total driving on the pga tour this year? Length not an issue here. Driver will be not be used much. The winner this week will need to find the fairways, chip and putt well and have the patience of a saint. The last 14 majors have been won by 14 different players. Tiger has 14 majors. There will be a nice symmetry if he becomes the 15th different player to win a major and racks up major number 15 at the same time. |

To Rhino,layers dont give gifts when Tigers involved,if you think back when tiger dominated he was rarely better than 6/4,hes won 2 tournies this year but is on offer at 9/1.
Think the general consensus is hes beatable. ps.players dont win majors by 7 unless theyre pretty damn good,there are reasons Oosthuizen hasnt won another one,view u.s open thread. Mighty whites,welcome to your opinion,hole 16 - 670 yard par 5 !!!,agree on finding fairways,greens in regulation,patience. Feel that Tigers best weapon now though will be his will to win,will that be enough?we shall see. |

Of course he's beatable, no such thing as unbeatable, especially in golf. Even at his peak he was 'only' winning about 35% of the tournaments he entered, i just found it strange that of all the players you could have mentioned, you picked Louis

Wonder if Tiger will continue to spank his 3, 4 or 5 iron down the fairway again tonight?

Now Mcilroy and oosty have missed the cut and aren't around for the weekend maybe the course is clear for Tiger to dominate again  BTW Oosthuizen has missed more cuts in majors than Tiger has in his career |

Tiger plays fast hard running courses very well.
This course is ideal for him and the chasing pack looks pretty thin right now. All things being equal he is going to win this and win it well. |

Case closed.
Under pressure to stay with the field for 36 holes,always appearing under pressure to produce shots. Finally cracked on day 3 with his accuracy totally out of the window. Day 4,no one talking about him,face like a smacked ar se,right again,happy days. we dont miss you on that winners podium |

Think his best chance would be Augusta, and he has plenty of time, Nicklaus was 66 when he won his last their... horses for courses. nice1

247lol, Tiger was poor on the weekend.
But to say he was under pressure for the first 36 holes to stay with the field is nonsense. Thurs and Friday he was superb and unlucky not have been well clear. Whether pressure told or he just played poorly on the weekend only he knows. The course was a tough test that punished bad shots. |

He played better than his score suggested on Saturday, just wasnt getting the bounce of the ball. Sunday was always highly unlikely, not the golf course you can attack pins early on and create pressure for others

Tiger has never come from off the pace to win any major I believe . So his odds on Sunday morning were unrealistic probably , around 16/1 , especially when there were decent golfers in / around the lead . But he lost it essentially on Saturday .

A win was unlikely from his position on sunday. The back nine on saturday it got away from him and playing the last 3 in plus 2 was a disaster.
That said Simpson was plus 5 after 6 on sunday and went on to win. Tiger was 3 under for the last 10 so had he started steadily he could have gone closer. |

Gone at the game. His next major will be on the seniors tour (looking like the guy on the Uncle Ben's rice packet.)
