Agree about Jason Day. As bad a price I've seen in a long time, Pettersson looks sure to go well and also like the look of Brian Gay and D.A Points. Harrison Frazar is the one i like at a bigger price.

I'm not usually the chalky type when it comes to golf but I love Phil and Keegan Bradley here.

I remember last years round with 10,000,000 mph winds and garcias weekend collapse. Will probably wait and have a few in play bets instead. Not particularly liking the prices on any of these. Pettersson is a good shout though.

Note for D A Points backers,D.A. Points is listed in the published field of next week's HP Byron Nelson Championship. This isn't a surprise given his sparkling record at the HPBNC -- two top 10s in his last three appearances -- but keep your fingers crossed that his back doesn't bump him from another start.
And Hunter Haas,Hunter Haas is listed in the published field of next week's HP Byron Nelson Championship. We'll slap a question mark next to this commitment on our Injury Report. He withdrew after just holes in his opening round of THE PLAYERS. If he plays next week, he'll be gunning to validate last year's T14. 5/10/2012 |

It is not the strongest ever field assembled for this weeks Byron Nelson Championship and of those at the top of the market only Carl Pettersson makes any appeal but his pre start price is about right so I may play him in running. Instead I have gone for three rags!
Harrison Frazar is my main fancy and returns to his home event for the first time as a PGA tour winner as he won the St Jude Classic the week after finishing 14th here last year. The Dallas born and bred player would love to win this event named after the great Texan Byron Nelson and he did come close back in 1998 when he was 2nd. The course was revamped ready for the start of the 2008 event and Frazar played a large part in the redesign and has improved with every start since mc/45/16/14. He admits he doesn't tend to play his best golf until the season hits May as he takes a while to warm up so I take the last two cuts made as a positive sign. Admittedly he started off the season in fine fettle finishing 5th and 2nd in Hawaii but he was really geared up for those events having fianlly qualified for the Champions event on Maui. I think at a three figure price he is well worth backing - 0.5 ew 125/1 Marc Leishman has only one win on the lower Nationwide Tour but it came in the state of Texas and there is something about the lone star state that brings out the best in the Australian. It all boils down to being able to putt when he hits Texas - he usually turns into one of the best putters of the week - even in Houston earlier this year he was number one putter. At Las Colinas he has been 8th and 12th but struggled in the really windy conditions last year. Two of the four winners since the course changed have been Australian - maybe it's time for a third.0.25 ew 110/1 Arjun Atwal loves the heat (unsurprisingly) and it is a large factor in him finishing 8th and 7th in the last two years. Last year it was his best result of the season and most of his other good results have come in the heat of the Deep South. I have found his recent results quite encouraging - 24th at Quail Hollow with one poor round letting him down whilst at Sawgrass he was actually playing pretty well til a horror finish in his second round saw him miss the cut. It is a pick based largely on his good course form hence his price is lower bt I still think he is worth the risk - 0.25 ew 150/1 |

Adam Scott - Very rarely appears nowadays but when he does, he's always challenging. In this weaker field, he will definitely be up there at the end and i think he is better value than the other favourites

Just Adam Scott for me this week.
I was all over him last week to be fair, and i still think he blew it. His par 5 performances were average as his stats indicate, but they should be so much better, considering he is 2nd from 200-225 on the PGA Tour. That leads you to believe his putting is the problem, but he does look a lot more comfortable with the long putter, although his putting stats from inside 10 feet don't show the improvement and he missed a few inside 5 feet at the Players. But he leads the way on the Tour on par 4s which suggests his putting is indeed much improved. This week the course is a par 70 with just 2 par 5s. If you believe in stats, that can only help his cause. Anyway, i really fancy him to deliver this week and he did win this in 2008. He goes out first thing in the morning too so should have the course in perfect condition. The field is very weak as evidenced by Jason Day at 24, and i think he could hack up. Good luck |

some hopeful punting from me for this weeks investments!!
J.Rollins @50 J.Blixt @120 A.Cejka @330 D.Mathis @330 P.Reed @360 |
|
By:
Seung-Yul Noh looks a fair price to me. He's been in fine form of late, and I think that the course will suit. On @ 96, and E/W @ 70
Graham Delaet @ 150 E/W. His time will come, hopefully this week. Gary Woodland @ 110, and 100 E/W. Needs to cut out the silly mistakes and improve on the greens, but worth a punt at the price. Smaller bets on Garrigus, Dicky Pride, Martin Flores, Will Claxton, and Derek Lamely. Best of luck peeps. |

Keep it on the fairway, putting and handling the wind seems to be the formula.
Els to win. Leishman, JJ Henry, Matt Jones, Cejka to trade hopefully. |

Afternoon All, Back from my Hols.
Enjoyed TPC last week, didn't have Kooch But was on Curtis E/W at 80s amongst my men so had a return. On to this week & I've gone for following; Huh 66s Gay 50s Noh 66s [for 1st 6] Adams 100s D Lee 125s [for 1st 6] All e/w with bookies. Only scanned through above thread but can't see much mention if at all for bottom 2. Adams was second here a couple of yrs back & played really well at TPC whilst Danny Lee is now based in Irving, Texas & is starting to show signs again of his undoubted class. Also I noticed he won on N/W the outing after he was DQ. Last time out he was DQ for first time since so although a bit leftfield I'm sure this will have gone through his mind! Good luck for the week everyone. |
