Anybody fancy Rhys Davies?
He always seems to go well on this course, lost in a 3 way play off last year. His game atm is pretty poor though, he had a shocker last week, was hoping for a bigger price tbh. |

Yeah MM was 1st time last year, its been used before but only as an invitation event....i went last year and very annoyed i could`nt make it this year, its got to be one of the best in europe....amazing track....i go to about 8 tourns a year and have done for the past 5 years, this course is up there with the very best, not alot of room for error ...hitting fairways is a must...
I made a few notes last year while i was there and have 2 or 3 players in mind for this, just waiting for prices to drift a bit.....no way Davies is one of them...bit surprised Coetzee is not in this as he could have won this last year, had shocking luck on the last 3 holes...Good luck... |

i've had a go at garth mulroy, not a bad effort at doral, a winner on tour this season,
yet 66/1 at uncle joe corals manassero looks to have a decent shout, but i almost feel guilty mentioning him |

My thoughts on the Hassan Trophy - Sometimes you look at the top of the market and you can easily pinpoint who is going to be backed due to current/course form and who is going to be favourite. This week Fran Molinari and Manassero were obviously going to be short and Gonnet and Van Zyl were going to be backed. Gonnet I just cannot have - this is his 200th start and he is still looking for a win on any tour and Van Zyl seems incapable of winning outside of small South African events. Yet I can back a player with five Challenge tour wins, one in Japan and two on the main tour who played in the Ryder Cup last time at bigger odds - madness! Edoardo Molinari hasn't been in sparkling form over the last year but I would say on potential he is as good as Manassero and better than his brother. He has had a niggling wrist injury for a long time but he won't have surgery until September as he wants to try and play in the Ryder Cup again. He has steadily improved with each start this year and on Friday last week we were shown a masterclass in putting. In the corresponding week for the last two years he has been playing at Bay Hill and has been 12th and 2nd - any play close to that will see him in the winners enclosure. The fact that he will play on until September means the injury is not too serious and we all know the old saying - beware the injured golfer! 0.75 ew 40/1 French players often inspire their countrymen to go on to win and with Quesne winning last week the one I want on my side is Gregory Bourdy. Unlike Gonnet he can actually boast three main tour wins already and is slowly coming to hand. He was 19th here last year - his best start of 2011 thus far and in his next event he had one of his best finishes of the season when 2nd in Malaysia. His all round stats in his last two starts have been really solid and at least we know he can close the deal 0.5 ew 45/1 Last but not least is my rag of the week - Ricardo Santos. He got his card with a really solid season on the Challenge Tour in 2011 with a win and seven other top ten finishes. He has made his last for cuts and had a 10th in India and he may just be inspired by a country he has finished 4th and 8th in on the lower tour before 0.2 win 150/1 + 0.4 top 10 14/1 |

Brandon Grace interest me at 42
Also backed David Lynn and Tano Goya is massive at 180s. Playing ok and first group out on the greens may open trade opportunities |

Wonder why this is not being played over 2 courses like it was last year....can almost discount last years tourn then...
|
|
By:
fancy two at decent prices this week plus two at shorter odds...
mannassero @16 rock @27 emolinari @42 mcgrane @190 |
|
By:
might even save on the other imo less talented molinari just for the craic (and the fact that hes knocking on the door)
|
|
By:
Du vin ? Du pain ? Du Bourdy...
Also Havret. Saver on Manassero. Chucked some change on Gary Orr, and Steven O'Hara at silly prices. |
|
By:
Bourdy for me, gl all.
|
|
By:
Scott Jamieson...my only bet in this, dont take any notice of his missed cut last year,he was not well and 1 month later almost won the spanish open.....not had a bad start to the year and very surprised to see him now at 160s.....
|

Was quite surprised to see Branden Grace ease out from low 40s to as much as $70. Is now back into 60s. Get the feeling he is a potential Top 50 player and after likely being a tad star struck on Day One at Doral, to finish 72, 64 and 70 only served to reinforce to me that he should be a solid chance this week. Having said all that, he's now probably no hope! :)
