They are posting The Sweet Spot very ntlate now. I think they have belatedly realised that Steve gives his selections here, which used to go up around noon, hours before they were published on the website for Members Club subscribers.
It all seems a bit misguided since Steve's tips don't crash prices like Pricewise or Hugh Taylor on the horses so there is no great value in early access. |
By:
Matt McCarty won the Desert Black Championship on Sunday. That follows a string of other big winners at prices including 40-1, 28-1, 25-1, 25-1, 18-1, 14-1 and 12-1 since the start of July alone. This remarkable run of form has taken Palmer's profit to 531.94 points from 1,199 staked this year – a profit on investment of 44.36 per cent.

Legendary golf tipster Steve Palmer starts the new year with a 66-1 winner! Sign up to Members' Club Ultimate now to get early access to his exclusive picks
There aren't many tipsters whose catchphrases become famous, but then again there aren't many tipsters like Steve Palmer – and his mantra of 'This will not be beaten' is one his selections certainly lived up to in 2024, and he has already started 2025 in blistering form following a huge 66-1 winner! Palmer's followers did not need to wait long to get into profit for the new year as Tom Hoge, tipped at 66-1 to be the first-round leader at the Sentry, obliged in the opening 18 holes of 2025 as our top tipster continued his red-hot form. The Racing Post's golf guru has returned a profit in 21 out of 24 seasons with his outright golf advice and he ended last year 588.4 points in profit from 1,477 points staked – a profit on investment of 39.8 per cent. There were plenty of highlights for Palmer's army of followers last year, including Scottie Scheffler to win the Masters, Xander Schauffele to win the Open and four winning selections at odds of 40-1 or more as he tipped a record-breaking 19 winners. Palmer's golf tips are now available exclusively for Racing Post Members' Club subscribers from 2pm every Tuesday, when you get his insight on the big tournaments in the US and Europe. And, via the digital newspaper which also comes as part of the Members' Club Ultimate package, members can also read expert spotlight comments for all players in our extensive PGA Tour and DP World Tour price comparison grids which include course and recent form, plus Palmer's unique attribute icons to help identify the type of players likely to be suited to conditions each week. More winners on the horizon? After a brilliant tipping year in 2024, Steve will resume his battle with the bookmakers when the new PGA Tour season begins at the Sentry at Kapalua Resort, Hawaii, on Thursday. Can our top golf tipster start 2025 with a bang? He tipped the following winners last year: Joaquin Niemann to win LIV Mayakoba at 14-1 Team Smash to win LIV Las Vegas at 22-1 Darius van Driel to win the Kenya Open at 60-1 Scottie Scheffler to win the Players Championship at 11-2 Scottie Scheffler to win the The Masters at 5-1 Team Ripper to win LIV Adelaide at 12-1 Rory McIlroy to win the Wells Fargo Championship at 15-2 Richard Bland to win the Senior PGA Championship at 7-1 Davis Thompson to win the John Deere Classic at 25-1 Sergio Garcia to win LIV Andalucia at 14-1 Team Fireballs to win LIV Andalucia at 13-2 Xander Schauffele to win the Open at 14-1 Nick Dunlap to win the Barracuda Championship at 40-1 Hideki Matsuyama to win the FedEx St Jude Championship at 25-1 Lydia Ko to win the Women's Open at 28-1 Matt Wallace to win the European Masters at 18-1 Matt McCarty to win the Black Desert Championship at 50-1 Elvis Smylie to win the Australian PGA Championship at 70-1 Scottie Scheffler to win the Hero World Challenge at 5-2 What the bookies are saying John Hill, Coral "It's no exaggeration to say Steve Palmer is the tipster the bookmakers fear the most. His selections are always our worst results each week in the respective golf tournament markets, as punters put their faith in him. It is during the four majors we fear Steve Palmer the most. With the weight of money behind his selections, his picks shape the betting market." Alex Apati, Ladbrokes "Steve Palmer's golf tips have absolutely stood the test of time and he receives the utmost respect from our traders. Liabilities build quickly and his winners are always great news for many Ladbrokes golf customers. Any plans for retirement, Steve?" Make sure not to miss Steve's monthly column Want more pearls of punting wisdom? Steve also writes an unmissable monthly column in the Racing Post and he proved he's more than just a golf expert in November when he pointed his army of followers in the direction of a 17-1 ante-post double on Irish Greyhound Derby winner Bockos Diamond and Judd Trump to win snooker's UK Championship. Don't miss his next column, which will be available exclusively to Members' Club subscribers in the Racing Post on January 11. The 50 per cent offer is not bad imo, especially for racing fans as it covers Cheltenham.
What they do not mention is The Sweet Spot video podcast thingy on the Racing Post's YouTube channel each Tuesday. It is basically Steve Palmer previewing the next tournaments and giving his Racing Post tips. It used to be the first place to get his tips (and reasoning, and silly voices) but eventually they realised it undercut their Members Club proposition so it is now delayed to early evening around 6pm (same time as their Upping the Ante racing video for Cheltenham. |
