A suggestion for a strategy on doubles...part of the problem with e/w doubles is that sometimes the ties can kill your returns and also e/w does not maximise your ROI over time...it's more a psychological thing I feel. As the point of a cross-double is to really nail that big win, why not forget the place portion of the e/w bet and go win only. That way instead of say -:
Euro Player A Player B US Player A Player B 4 x 1pt each-way doubles for 8pts outlay try throwing in an extra player on each tour to increase your chances of collecting... Euro Player A Player B Player c US Player A Player B Player C 9 x 1pt win doubles for 9pts outlay or even stick with the original 2 x 2 and increase your win stakes for the bigger payoff when you hit the jackpot ! Then if you want to take it a step further you can do Cross Top-10 doubles with your players so the same as the above but in the top-10 market. Ok the odds are lower but you are giving yourself multiple chances of hitting multiple doubles if 1,2 or even 3 or players finish in the top-10 in each event and you know the prices you are taking are the prices you will get. Just a suggestion but psychologically the Top-10 doubles help a bit with near misses and can pay for the more speculative bets and even generate decent profits on their own with a higher chance of collecting each week. |
