Still perplexed and none the wiser about Vena Amoris yesterday. Advised here in the morning at 7/1, the writing was clearly on the wall before the off, drifting to 25/1 SP. As for his run? 500/1 would have been a more reflective price. Unfortunately for Las Verglas Star, the weight he carried proved too much of a burdon, and after a sluggish start was never going to make up the ground. I had thought Nearest The Pin's withdrawal at Fairyhouse meant he was going to take up his entry at Aintree, but I see he's withdrawn there too, so he may have an injury.

Nothing returned yesterday from the three selections, however Montaser was eye catching. He ran a little green throughout, and the penny finally dropped with a furlong to go. He was finishing very strongly, and will come on for the run. Swilly Ferry and The Strawberry One were disappoinging, though the former may have needed the run, and should be down inthe ratings next time out.
