Hi everyone,

I've decided to relocate my blog from Betfair's community area to my own Word Press based website (www.sirtip.com).  No major gripe against Betfair's setup, but I think the freedom of having your own web space, coupled with the ability to easily update the blog from various mobile devices, means I can hopefully be a lot more active in the future.  The enhanced editing functionality of Word Press was a big attraction for me, as I aim to be providing more commentary on my selections, and hopefully include some visual aids to help.

Also, over the coming days I'll hopefully be able to give a run down on how I pull together my selections, and be able to answer a few questions off the back of it.  Here's hoping for a more interactive experience with the new set up.
With my planned break over, tomorrows excellent card at Newmarket should allow for some quality selections.  These selections will probably be on this Betfair blog, but we will move to the new site this week (not quite ready yet).

I've enjoyed my time on the Betfair community site, and only wish I had more time to interact with the other users.  I'll always appreciate the Betfair setup, and will fondly remember being part of their home page (if only for a day).

Really good day yesterday with Thomas Chippendale (13/2) and Gatewood (10/3) both winning.

Please, note, after today I will be taking a 3 week break from the blog, after which I hope to be up and running on World Press, and moving away from Betfair.

Despite losing out on the big bet of the day (The Fugue), we still had a profitable day yesterday with Saddlers Rock running well into 3rd in the Gold Cup, and Takar winning in Ireland (albeit at reduced odds).  Piri Wango also showed the benefit of shopping around, with Bet365 and Stan James both paying 5 places (advised 20/1)

Two seconds yesterday, and very frustrating ones at that.  On both occasions our selections, along with the winners, pulled away from the rest of the field.  An all too familiar sight when our selections get beaten.

So close with Third Half yesterday evening, another few strides and he would have got up.
Good racing at Leopardstown today, and for me Lightening Pearl is the stand out in the Group 3 Fillies race.  If the rain stays away, the ground will be firm enough for her.  If the ground won't suit, then she won't run, so I think we're safe to back her today at a good price.  Also, watch for a trademark powerful finish from Alanza, with an opportunity to back at a better price in running, for those so inclined.
