As long as it's not in the Bank of Sudan/Zimbabwe/Somalia etc etc far safer in a bank.
The FSCS savings protection limit in the UK is £85,000 per authorised bank. It's zilch for a bookie
If there's fraud you'll almost certainly get your money back with a bank. With a bookie you probably won't.
