Is anyone else having a problem viewing the exchange markets with ad blockers? I use the plugin 'Ghostery' and on Firefox & Safari, the markets have recently stopped loading.
In order to make the site work again, you have to allow the 'Google Tag Manager' to load on the site. Why on earth does Betfair's website depend upon a third party in order to work?
I'm not using Ghostery but haven't had any problems with the markets whilst using Kaspersky's blocking (along with adblock plus).
I am though having problems with Purple's new site and have to revert to the classic site.

Mr M, there was another thread about this somewhere. I found I had to whitelist BF on Ghostery. Same for Oddschecker.
Someone said that you only need to untick one of the blocked elements, but I don't want to do that. I'd rather whitelist Betfair and have the cookies blocked anywhere else they might appear.

I've got the reverse problem to you, Gin. Purple site is working fine, it's just BF misbehaving. Might be due to a different adblocker (I'm using uBlock) I've grudgingly disabled some of the blocking to make Betfair usable again.
PeteTheBloke, on Ghostery you can whitelist 'Google Tag Manager' just for Betfair's site. Click on the ghostery icon, then click on the greyed-out tick next to its name. This is different from clicking on the adjacent slider toggle thingie, which would whitelist it for every site.
I'd also recommend the 'self-destructing cookies' add-on in Firefox - if you run into a crappy site like Betfair's that needs some of these tracking sites to work, it will delete their cookies after you close the tab or browse elsewhere.

I don't trust cookies to self-destruct. I murder the hell out of them a few times a day. Being paranoid is a pain at times, but it makes me happy to think of all the data they are not collecting about me.
