Seems odd that any could say no.

The data protection act, should stop them telling a new applicant that there is an account already held at that address.....as that's private information of the original applicant.

It would be interesting to see how they turn someone down???

if you both place the same bets, theyll probably turn round and void your bets saying you did it to bypass the stake limits. obviously, only if the bets actually win, they wont void losing bets for sure!

Why on earth would they restrict you to one account per IP address - you and your wife are separate people.

Because bookies are in business to make money. They are not dummies.

Very badly. That's why they stop it. For a start you can open accounts for people that would never do so to claim the new customer bonuses..

Practically every internet user has not got a fixed IP address (Static Address).
You mostly get allocated a new one every time you switch the router on / off and on again (Dynamic IP Addressing).
So why bookmakers still think that the IP fixes which computer the bet is coming from remains a mystery.
The biggest advantages of Dynamic IP Addressing are less security risk as the computer is assigned a new IP address each time the customer logs on, they are cost effective and there is automatic network configuration (the less human intervention with network configuration the better). Dynamic addressing is usually used by ISP's so that an IP address can be reassigned if not being used at the time to one of several users. The IP might identify that the computer is located somewhere in a particular town but only the ISP knows who has that particular IP address at any one time.
