I'm a fan but am nervous, hoping
for the best and fearing the worst.
Should I be worried?

shouldn't be fruitless .
kennels , you'll have better fortune than the tangerines  who's  luck went a bit pear shaped .

expect some plum fixtures .
Report kenilworth April 28, 2015 10:25 PM BST
Cockroach, they can expect only 'cherry' fixtures.

I hate to be pedantic, but the word is actually 'fare'.

OK, to be fair, I lied - I like being pedantic.

Farewell

They remind me of Reading a few years ago when they got promoted a high scoring team with defensive frailties.I expect them to be ok next season, the element of surprise & all that, the following season might be different though.

cofc4me, I don't mind you being pedantic,
besides, I have friends who are also
pedantic. Having said that I really thought
'fearing' was a word, not so it appears.GL.

It's wonderful to see Bournemouth in the EPL.  Small club with a great atmosphere.  Surviving in the EPL is a massive task and will be a struggle.  The best outcome would be to improve the squad without creating a huge financial burden and just carry on playing entertaining and attacking football. Will be a great season for the fans whatever happens. Who would have thought this possible five years ago?  Just enjoy it.

it's possibly the first and only time a premier league fixture has been anywhere with a lovely (clean) sandy beach and blue sea .

beats the living hell out of Blackpool for sure .

Nice trip for supporters of any league - obviously not so great in the depth of winter  accepted
Report David Icke May 3, 2015 6:48 AM BST
Outside the top 6 there is an awful lot of s hit in the Premier League so if Bournemouth add a few experienced players, win enough home games and get lucky with injuries they have a fair chance of staying up.
Report stu May 3, 2015 10:08 AM BST
I think they should first try sticking with this team/squad as much as possible - they have just smashed up a very tough league, so no reason they won't give most sides a game next season in the Prem, where there are plenty high-paid ponces not putting it all in.
Report Burton-Brewers May 3, 2015 6:33 PM BST
I hope they buck the trend, gives a boost for smaller clubs to see what can be achieved
Report Coachbuster May 3, 2015 9:46 PM BST
to be fair -  as a supporter looking for entertainment i'd not want promotion to the mind numbing snoozefes...sorry i meant Premier league -sooner watch an interesting game than a defensive 90 minute display  -and i'm guessing B'mth will adapt this approach to survive  .

But  it's great for a small club to say you've been up at the top

Money ,sorry - greed  has ruined the game  there is no doubt

been a while Kenny, but seeing that guy with the mobility scooter invading the pitch at blackpool brought you to mind

made up for you now in the prem, can see you there next season blanket on your knees sucking your werthurs, real football fans will be a breath of fresh air
Report stu May 5, 2015 1:38 PM BST
My team (Bradford) had similar profile with our time at the top (Prem).

We were on gates about 18k at the time (funnily capacity now 25k in league one).

Most people were prob sure we'd go down in the first season, but we proved them wrong by surviving for one season, then the drop came in '2nd season' syndrome.
Report stu May 5, 2015 1:39 PM BST
As a fan, both seasons were great fun though - and in our first season we beat Arsenal, Newcastle and a few other scalps - second season was less fun, as we were getting beat more often!
Report kenilworth May 5, 2015 8:59 PM BST
Bournemouth could be a breath of fresh
air to the P/L as there seems a lot of
negativity this season just ending, it
should be an exciting season for the
followers.

Second season was awful.  We were down by Christmas.
Report kenilworth May 8, 2015 9:30 AM BST
Rob, who do you support?
Report cpfc4me May 10, 2015 2:56 AM BST
With a username of Rob_The_Bantam, I would hazard a guess that he supports Bradford City.

Don't forget to take some Marching powder with you to the games next season Kennels -after what i've seen in the PL this season you'll need it . Those teams won't want you  playing attractive football

they will pop of course....

You earned the right to play with the 'big boys'. Enjoy it and if its only one season you will have a big pot of gold to go again. Hope my club Brentford can do the same next season. Dont think the Premiership will like 'little clubs' like us, but its getting a bit boring and needs a few new names. Blackpool were a breath of fresh air when they spent a season in there.Sadly for them it ended in disaster. I'm sure you will not end up like them. Hope to be up there with you the season after next. Good Luck.

Thanks for that post. I must say
as AFC were seriously in chasing
promotion, I had/have reservations
and thinking it could all end in
tears as it has for some other clubs
in recent years, and feeling 'better
to travel than to arrive' etc not
wanting to be humiliated, but I
honestly feel the present side are
as good as maybe 8 sides already in
the P/L no one being taken apart,We
can't wait to see the fixture list!!
I look  forward to seeing Cherries
meeting Brentford in the P/L in 16/17.
