Stupid question maybe, but I was browsing the page detailing Betfair charges and could find nothing related to data request charges.

Have data request charges been eliminated?

Aren't they still working out the pricing policy for the new API?

Got hit with these a couple of times before figuring out how to avoid them.

A few weeks ago  I got hit for TXN charges and was looking at the charges detail page to remind myself how to ninimise them.

Data Charges were on there but now not so.
Probably since the new API, I would think, but can't believe they would have the generosity to remove them!

You can choose your refresh speed on the normal new site now so I would think that makes data request charges redundant.

It mainly hits people running bots bilbo.

The new refresh option means an ordinary user could hit the old limits: set the refresh to 1 second, open a few markets in new tabs and you'll be just about there.
Report longbridge • December 9, 2014 5:12 PM GMT
@Mr Magoo - how's that work?  The new refresh rate only applies (unless something's changed and I've missed it) to in-play horseracing, so you'd be hard-pushed to find two markets to open simultaneously most of the time, let alone 'a few'.
Report Mr Magoo • December 10, 2014 11:28 AM GMT
Oh, I assumed it was for all markets, not just horseracing. (And I hadn't realised that the refresh is just for in-play either).
I was thinking of someone watching a football match and having a tab open for match odds, over/under, correct score and so on. Later on you minimise a window or two and forget about them, but they're still there requesting odds behind the scenes...
