Everyones leaving betfair

less then half an hour after writing this post I am already getting stung due to
poor market depths,can not even get my bet matched at much less then the tote prices...
broken...

Yep the markets are in a sorry state these days, I was looking yesterday at some of the later markets and the market depth and amounts available was like going back in time to when Betfair started and they were UK markets due to start in a coupe of hours. Guess there's plenty of reasons why from Horseracing being a dying sport out of touch with punters, PC charges driving away market makers, larger punters etc to the simple fact the exchange is no longer being advertised and hidden away on the main website in favour of the sportsbook.

Betfair's current management just seem to be happy to look at short term profits to please shareholders rather than the long term view. I guess at best they'll now only ever be a mid sized internet bookie and the exchange side will slowly drift into obscurity until another competitor comes along with a slightly new take on the exhange system
