Hi

Just wondering if anyone has worked as a trader for any of the major bookies? I have an interview for the post shortly for an inplay trader, but not sure what to expect. Any tips or info would be appreciated! Cheers

1) Check Betfair price. In no circumstances be nearer than 10% of that price no matter that's it available for buttons.

2) If Betfair crashes, panic.

2) There is no  3)or 4) .....

Should think you need experience.

Well, i had the interview today. Not good! we had a group discussion about the industry itself and where it is going. After this we had a general interview. The was followed by a series of tennis and us sports questions (despite not stated this). After this we had to calculate percentages from odds, then price up 6 events(3 tennis, 3 US) don't think i will be getting a call back!

In the interview, were you allowed to use your mobile to check the betfair prices?

They will be penalising anyone who didn't... and god help you if your prices gave away an arb.

I wouldn't worry. Next to nobody employed as a sports trader does anything like this. Performing poorly may be an advantage over others who are clued up.
