Hi all,

What is called when you can back something on a website like 365 and lay the same market on betfair for example and make a profit either way?

Thanks.

Joe

Bookmakers also describe ARBING as someone who backs a horse with them, holds the bet and it then go's off shorter. A person who does this consistently is known in bookmaking circles as a DIRTY FILTHY ARBER and is very quickly banned from betting

Arbitrage

arbitrage is risk free betting whatever the outcome.however thier is a minute risk which is human error or betfair going down before you have layed the same bet off.
Or even a power cut!
Bookmakers take a very dim view about arbers, however as long as your bets dont keep hitting the bookies you will get away with it until you are restricted or banned.
Bookmakers dont like being taken for mugs and certainly not having winning accounts on thier books.

It's only 'arbitrage' if both bets placed at the same time,
if not, it's called gambling on the market moves.
