I have a HP Presario laptop which has had a fake Windows 7 put into it by a local 'well meaning' computer guy. Needless to say i am having issues with my LT since that was done a few weeks ago. Anyway, i have a Fujitsu LT with a genuine Windows 7.
Is it possible to download this from the Fuji and upload it, or whatever you do, into the HP?. Maybe if i do that, then IT become a fake also! I have only an average knowledge about computers, and am hoping some kind soul can help me with an answer please. Being on a pension is one excuse for trying this on if it is possible, as opposed to buying genuine Win7.. Living in the Philippines is another good reason for trying to do this as so many 'genuine' articles over here are not genuine at all!
Many thanks to anyone who may be able to help. It will be much appreciated ican assure you!Grin.
It's not possible (or necessary) to download from the Fujitsu and upload it onto the HP but you may be able to activate the Windows 7 on the HP laptop using the product key on the Fujitsu, depending on whether the genuine Windows 7 on the Fujitsu is an OEM version or not:
If you can't activate the Windows 7 on the HP this way then you've nothing to lose by contacting Microsoft directly and asking them to help. Don't mention "well meaning" computer guys. Tell them you bought in good faith but you're a victim of software counterfeiting.
