ladcrooks are rapidly becoming unfit for purpose

If it was placed in a shop forget about ibas just take them to the small claims court. Its a doddle to do ,the threat of court action will probably be enough.

Try emailing Attheraces and the Racing Post before you try IBAS.

CB,
The reality is what are ATR or the RP going to do? We have seen BM will do everything to defend bookmaker practices and it is understandable given the vested interests that he has with them. There is one other avenue I will explore before I go to IBAS. The problem is that I used to have to deal with IBAS cases at times if the sports I managed required it. They are a complete pain in the arse although it was for much more complex issues than this. This type of issue would never get to IBAS and it smacks of some serious flaws within the ladblokes management chain that they said the issue was closed as far as they were concerned and that I should contact them. It is a really basic settlement issue. |

It's because it's a basic settlement issue that the Racing Post could sort it out. Ladbrokes aren't trying to pull a fast one, by the sounds of it they just think you are stupid and they are right. It clearly has never crossed their mind that you could be right. I got paid out once thanks to the intervention of Oddschecker or Betbrain. I think both followed my complaint up and I think from memory Betbrain even suspended them.

100 each way at 1/4 odds at 66/1
win part loses place part shares with 2 others therefore stake on place is 100/3 =33.33 odds are 66/4 = 16.5 /1 Return = 16.5 *33.33 plus stake of 33.33 = 583.27 |

fred,
It was for the top 5 with 2 tied in 4th place. Therefore you get 2 of the 3 places as such not 1/3 like you suggest. |

Interesting CB. I will wait and see if anything happens with what I am trying. If not maybe contacting the RP might be an idea. Really cannot be bothered with IBAS but obviously will do if needs be.

Should be very easy. |

Does the Racing Post not usually publish the tournament prices along with the place terms for all the books on a Wednesday or Thursday? If so, either a) try to find a copy from then, or b) email the RP and ask them to confirm what was printed.

So I actually had resolution to the issue today. After two more phone calls to customer services I eventually found someone who actually agreed with the settlement number I thought it to be. With that being the case I went to the shop again. I was originally quoted a figure in the £700's which almost made me lose my cool. Having been told repeatedly that the issue has already been through to customer services and they could do nothing the lady saw sense. She eventually got hold off someone and they eventually came round to the correct number.
I only didn't lose my cool because I actually felt desperately sorry for her. She was way in over her head, clearly with no support from her management who had dealt with the issue previously, whilst being pestered by a gentleman about issues with a free bet on a FOBT, whilst being pestered by another guy about there being no milk left and did she have a float to buy some more, whilst watching another guy throw his salad and lettuce all over the floor and eat it... The happy conclusion is that 20 mins later I was able to come back and collect the cash. It was a truly pathetic situation and I can only place the blame within Ladblokes customer services and the level of arrogance which was breathtaking at times throughout the situation. I think I phoned them up 7 times in total and the shop 3 did times.... I do comeback to my original point and that is it frightening to think of what some bookmakers get away with regarding dead heat payments and payments just in general. People just assume bookies must be right and that has been the case even in this thread amongst some of the more intelligent members of the betting world. Heaven help the rest. Thanks to everyone for their contributions. |
