Why do some dislike sportsbook.

Because most people cannot place any bets on it as they are restricted...

and because the odds are awful

You can cash out on most bookmaker sites now, bet365 do it. Sportsbook is awful. I got a £25 free bet and was limited to £7 on most things! managed to back overs at evens for £15, all i was allowed. Thats why people hate it. In addition to it becoming more important to betfair than the exchange and them plugging more and more money into the sportsbook than the exhcnage, look at the "new" exchange that is what 2 years old now? And its still not right! Half the issues on the exchange, the crashing at 3pm on every other saturday, the withdrwal or prizes etc etc could have been addressed if money was spent here rather than the sportbook.

i cant bet live on the sportsbook, simply wont go through, spoke to person on phone to findout reason why , aint foind out yet

i do think that many things on betfair are pretty average, you dont get a timer or a score for many sports on the exchange, the sportsbook is not easy to access on my mobile.

Mikenz, the odds are most definitely worse.

Working out what odds you are getting after commission is actually pretty complicated. You can't simply deduct 5%. You also need to take into account what edge you have. Here I'll assume that all prices to back on Betfair are fair value (although they aren't, it won't make much difference).
I'll also assume a rate of 5% commission.



As a rule of thumb, anything at high odds will be way better on the exchange. It's no contest.

it's not for those premiumcharged..... they have to include the effect a bet has on their implied commission, the discount rate and also their nervous system


in other words: it is now impossible to determine net odds, so dont think about it just keep it simple and go ahead gamble and try to win as much as possible

Come on Mikenz, wake up to reality. The odds on BF sportsbook are useless at Investor illustrates.

Here's another small gripe - Rugby is my sport. I fancy a bet on the 6 Nations games this weekend - just having a look now and all the match odds are suspended.  Great service eh?

I was speaking with some chap on Twitter at the weekend and told him to join Betfair for better odds.  After a few more tweets I realised he'd signed up to the sportsbook...

the daft **** missed a whole race off the other week ,it appeared half hour before start at 16.00 ish .how many people must of contacted them saying u missed a fukin race off but didnt appear till half hour before
complete jokers and most there prices are chit but if u have money they do give plenty of options to arb them with the exchange but as people  say u will get banned straight away
