So fecking frustrating to have the 2-GBP back and lay bot with his jumping figures. Operating on every market, even the total points and hcp markets. I can take the harmless 365 laying bot but this one makes the markets visually impossible to trade.

Meaning nothing with this post more than letting of some steam.

Hello,
Bots is a big problem for the markets, the allowance of them operating have totally killed some of the markets. For example total points markets in basketball and set winner in tennis. I think that they’re scaring away punters.

Betfair provides multiple channels to bet through including the Web Site, Mobile, Telebet and  the Public API  (Software Vendor Applications and Direct Access Applications).  Allowing customers to transact through multiple channels is fundamental to ensuring that liquidity levels are strong across all core markets offered on the exchange platform.  Customers transacting through the public API (Bots) operate under the same terms and conditions as any other customer/channel.

I don't know if it was you that asked the above question following a recent thread on the exchange, but it if refreshing to see that BF gave you a great answer to your question isn't it Cry

Time for a little update on the bot situation.

I brand new one appeared on the asian basketball markets, using a liability of 200 euro. Of course working both on the moneyline and the total points markets, laying and backing. Just killed all that was left. On a market with low or medium liqudity this is just pure sadness.

I'm not understand why a £2 punt (bot or not) is upsetting.  As for the 200 Euros appearing it's just a fact of life that there will be competition.

I have somebody new working some markets I work on, I just have to accept that they too have recognised an opportunity and I have to compete with them.

That's the way the ball bounces.

stupid question but what are the downsides of this? the bit just offering terrible prices? is it hoovering up the last bets of  a game or what? just curious to hear about it. thanks

The visual part is the  worst thing. It´s using a fast feed for the points and are ahead of both streams and 365s livescore. You have to sort out the bots orders all the time, on a market with low liquidity this is pretty tiresome with the flashing figures all over the place. But as mentioned above, the competition is free but not very fair.
