General Betting used to be great a couple of years or so ago.

Sounds like there's a been a Major Malfunction

I was going to quote half your post, but realised I should be posting in the biology forum if I want to show some Cellular division.

Perhaps everyone is sick of whingers going on and on about how Betfair is doomed because of the premium charge, and how the sportsbook is killing the exchange, and how no one can make a living any more because all the mug punters have disappeared.

They should rename this the "General Whingeing" forum.

Agreed Phil - it does get boring after a while with all the moaning about the PC, and at the same time having to listen to the same people telling all and sundry how clever they are.

Is it not still a policy that betfair are not allowing new punters to join the forum?

i think it is probably most people have learned what is to be learned about gambling and no longer want to share their knowledge. if you browse the pages from few years ago you learn that there were more discussion about gambling here.

True.  I haven't gained an ounce of knowledge in around 18 months from here.  Spend my time searching the net.

Americans strive to bet on everything they can and look at 3 to 5 percent profit as absolute bliss.

Still keep looking at this forum hoping for little insights to emerge. Kevin Pullein once wrote that there's no one source that has all the answers to making it pay but there are bits and pieces here and there that help a lot. My own experience is that he's right; I've read various books over the years, listened to some of the more respected judges on TV, seen articles on the net and posts on here that have all helped me to develop a profitable approach.

Yes but BF have banned all new forum signups for over a year now? so there are precisely 0 newbies to pop up asking questions.
