Hi all,
Last week I matched a Rugby in-play bet £75.00 @ 3.2 in-running with one of the UK'S leading firms, the bets taken I have a little pop up stating my possible return, the bets on great !!
I sit back around 3 minutes later my team get a penalty at the end of the 1st half and boom straight between the posts. I go back to my Sportsbook where the bet is matched only to see that the bet has been cancelled 2 mins later !! ( It's recorded on my account the matched and cancelled bet times )
The team I backed went onto win the match.
I've contacted the firm and they have passed it onto their trading team in Gibraltar to look into the reason why. The sports team / telephone support can't see any explanation why it was cancelled, they say they are awaiting from their trading team for a response, 6 phone calls later and 2 emails, 11 days later I get the same response they are still looking into it.
I'm wondering where I stand as I've thought about contacting IBAS, any help would be much appreciated.

Have a look at the "Betfair not paying pensioner" thread on the Horse Racing forum, Paul Haigh helps people with disputes, he has asked on that thread for people to contact him and has posted his email on the thread, so it is ok to email him direct, he might not be back on the thread for awhile, so email him now directly and he'll get back to you quicker than going through the forum.

No probs, he has a lot of experience with disputes and dealing with IBAS.
Please name the firm then we can advise better. They may be a regular bunch of shysters in which case you have little redress or they may be a decent firm and you will get your dough easily enough.

Good, you should have a great chance. What was the game out of interest as I was betting myself live on almost all live rugby this weekend?

JML your above comment "Stupid" ? The game was Grenoble v Toulon it was 12-12 when bet was matched 90 secs later Grenoble get a penalty, they score I the log back into account the bets then cancelled and stake refunded. I contact Paul 48 hours I get refund !!
When I say refund I mean bet paid out at original matched odds
What a pity that it takes the threat of legal action to persuade a bookmaker to pay a customer his rightful winnings.
And even when it does so, to state it's a "goodwill gesture", which suggests they did nothing wrong, but will make the payment out of the goodness of their hearts.

OK CP thanks for giving me the game - wasn't actually one which I was betting on in the end.
