£50 on Villa to beat Fulham with Coral @2.30

Lay Villa here @2.34 , backers stake £28

Villa win and you get £65 back from Coral , lose the £38 or so liability on Betfair

Villa don't win then you'd be about £27 green after commission on here.

Either way you make £27 profit .

You want to back something at Corals at long odds (10+, the longer the better really, as long as you have the money at Betfair to cover a lay bet at similar odds), but where the odds at Corals aren't much worse than on here. Then if you wish, lay the same bet on here to secure a profit. You should be able to get close to £50 (£40 at the very least). For it to work you obviously need a decent chunk of money on here.

I used to be in his shoes... nothing wrong with learning the ropes (although the more you can work out on your own the better you will understand it).

1 - To make maximum value from a free bet you want to use the free bet to back something at as long a price as possible (since you never get the stake back you want to maximise possible payout).
2 - To guarantee maximum value from a free bet you want to lay it on betfair for the minimum price possible (almost always this will be higher than the bookies price).

Both 1 and 2 are important and need to be taken into account together and you will need a lot of cash in your betfair account to cover your liability if laying at long odds.

Another example similar to tobermory, which requires over £500 in your betfair account:
£50 on Norwich to beat Arsenal with Coral @11 (which is like 12 in betfair prices)
Lay Norwich here @15, backers stake £36.79
Norwich win and you get £550 back from Coral, lose £515.06 liability on Betfair = £34.94
Norwich don't win and you get £36.79*0.95 = £34.95

Either way you make £34.95

Right now you can back Barcelona 4 - 1 @ 19 at Corals, and lay the same selection @ 19 on here. That would be a decent choice.

If you've got the cash in Betfair, back Furyk each way for the Masters @ 80/1.  Lay £22.50 on the win at 90 and £27.50 on the place at 14.5.  You'll win around £120 if he placed or £50 if he isn't.
