VPN providers

VPNs are mentioned in my thread about internet security, although no answer as such.  I installed Hotspot Shield yesterday but have not been able to login to Betfair when using it as says I'm in a location where using Betfair is not allowed.

I used hidemyass.com a couple of years ago. I had no problems with it , you can choose IP-addresses from almost any country in the world and it's certainly not expensive.
  I think it's roughly $ 10 for a month and $ 60 for a year.
  I don't know how fast or secure it is though as I wasn't concerned about either at the time, but it seemed no slower than a normal internet connection to me.
