Hi,

If something has a 5% chance of happening, what are the chances of it not happening for 100 times in a row?

For example, you'd expect a 2-2 draw very roughly in around 5% of games, so you'd expect 5 in 100 games, how many times in sets of 100 games would you get no 2-2 draws? What about if there was a 10% chance of a 2-2 draw?

Thanks

1st question, 0.95 squared 100 times.

2nd question, 0.9 squared 100 times.

Thanks. So 0.95 squared 100 times gives me 5.92. But what does that mean? Would you get a 2-2 draw at least once per hundred games 5.92 times to one streak when you didn't?

Or could you expect not to get a 2-2 draw 5.92 times out of a hundred sets of 100 games?

you get 0,00592 which is telling you that it's a 0,592 % chance of not getting a 2-2 result in 100 matches.
It's therefore 168/1 of not having at least one 2-2 in 100 matches.
