as the other one has died, if anyone's interested in posting trading ideas - no abuse please i admit what i am , i'm a member of AA (Aftertimers Anonymous) - i've been to my meeting already today - "I'm Green Army & I'm an aftertimer"  - they all clapped and we congratulated each other for being on swansea on saturday

FWIW I reckon wigan are too high at 4 as newcastle have lost their last 4 and were v poor v swansea in the last home game - the stats show a low scoring game wigan 1-0 at 14 for me

the draw at 12 for chelsea on wednesday i think is too high too & Udinese 4.2 v liverpool looks big - i realise its caveat emptor with the reds but Udinese are a good Serie A side that won at anfield and i believe a win will put them thru and knock the reds outs (ie i think its GD between the teams in the 2 games rather than in the group ? - apologies if thats not right)

and a bit of fun on bayern v bate - i took 970/1 on 3-1 bate - thats the score bate beat them by in the reverse fixture and this game doesn't matter - this time next year.........

hi smithy lets hope for some imformative stuff - and no abusers - can do without it

i see the markets reacted early to suarez absence at w ham on saturday  - he should play on thusday tho - even so 4.2 for a side as good as mebbe swansea looks big particularly as they beat lpool fair and square at anfield

What on earth are you talking about?

From my "URL"?? LaughLaugh

If you post lies, it's in everybody's interest that this gets pointed out is it not?
Or are you suggesting lying is a good thing?

Well Done GA cracking thread title

As a member of AA I can report good trading with Leicester shortening on Saturday teatime and also took a few quid out of Leeds doing the same at Huddersfield
3rd Aussie test proved very lucarative just wish Id had the balls to lay the draw at 4.3 on day one and even biggers balls to plough more on SA before I went to bed last night. I transfered the money to the Oz wallet and then bottled out as I was about to load up all my bank at 1.27
Turned TV on this morning and the Aussies are 9 down. !.27 my bottom they should have been 1.1 tops
Still a very good weekend

Next up has got to be lay the draw 3rd test in India. Just laid a large portion at 3.35

Careful with your Udinese bets, according to UEFA.com they cannot qualify for the knockout stages.....

Udinese Calcio are out, but can take Liverpool FC down with them in their final Group A game, with the Reds seeking to deny BSC Young Boys a UEFA Europa League round of 32 slot.

Group A permutations
• Anji are through as even if they are caught by both Liverpool and Young Boys, the Russian side would finish second behind the Reds in a three-way head-to-head.

• Liverpool are second on head-to-head record ahead of Young Boys and will qualify with a win. A draw would also take them through provided Young Boys do not win. Liverpool would be out with a defeat, even if Young Boys lose, as YB would be top of a three-way head-to-head involving the Reds and Udinese.

• Young Boys will be through if they pick up more points than Liverpool. They will also qualify if both they and Liverpool lose as YB will be top of a three-way head-to-head involving the Reds and Udinese.

• Udinese are out.

a nice roller coaster weekendGrin. yes i layed watford and they won 5-0Laugh. was dissapointed stoke won at west brom thought 3.65 was short on them considering they hadn't won away since march and west brom had only lost to man city at home. i couldn't understand why any unquoted scoreline was 2nd favourite in the correct score market for burnley vs blackburn. i expected a tight derby and thats what it was. a text from my dad saying "no room tight game" enabled me to slowly trade small bits back as the first half progressed from my seat in the pubGrin. the only game i traded in play was suprisingly anzhi vs cska moscow. and what a strange game it was it looked to me as if it was fixed to finsish 0-0 so i had no option but to lay cska as they just had no interest in scoring. they then were reduced to 10 men for persistant fouling. a full list of champions league and europa league fixtures this week plus the cricket. all is wellHappy

the cricket is fascinating

first i've been thinking on SCOMs historical stats on laying the draw in worldwide test matches - the return over the last 10 years is unreal - i think the average price for profitability is around 3.5 but of course every match must be taken on its own merits

for this one however - check this out from the guardian-

Over breakfast the Times of India declared that Prabir Mukherjee, suddenly the most famous curator in the world, had been "gagged". Two hours later he was exchanging high fives with the cricket correspondent of the Sun down at the Indian's beloved Eden Gardens. Mukherjee, a young 83-year-old with a back as straight as a stair rod, came over for a chat. He did not look ill; he did not look disillusioned; he would not be gagged. He is responsible for the pitch for the third Test, which starts on Wednesday, and for the past two days he has dominated the frenzied news channels here.

India's captain, MS Dhoni, has been called "immoral" by Mukherjee; he expressed discontent with his employer, the Cricket Association of Bengal; he was none too happy with the BCCI and he was threatening to take a month's leave. After all those years at Eden Gardens, he did not like being told how to do his job.   Now he has been mollified, though this required a visit to Kolkata's cricket potentate, Jagmohan Dalmiya.

Mukherjee declared that good batsmen and good bowlers would excel on his pitch – mind you, they always say that. But he also admitted that the Test pitch was used by Bengal as recently as 20 November, the last day of their Ranji Trophy fixture against Gujarat. That ended as a remarkable draw after Gujarat recovered from 18 for five to 272 for eight in the second innings.

By English standards, this most definitely constitutes a "used" pitch. It would be unthinkable for a groundsman in England to provide a Test wicket that had only been used a fortnight before. At Eden Gardens the bowlers' footprints on the way to the crease are still clearly visible.

So the choice of this strip of turf has added to the pitch paranoia, which has filled the long lull between Tests rather nicely. Yet it is probably a mistake to anticipate that the Eden Gardens surface will be quite so friendly to spinners as the one in Mumbai.

In their last three matches here India have declared with scores in excess of 600 and it is unlikely to be a batsman's graveyard this time round. There will be turn; it will be slower than in Mumbai. We are just not so sure how early in the match that turn will come to pass. Perhaps on a used wicket it will happen a little earlier than usual.

hejik, when I first saw you posting, I honestly thought to myself, "hmm, that poster seems sharp and intelligent, and he seems to know his stuff".

Well, since then it's all changed, hasn't it? You've allowed yourself to descend into unwanted "noise" on each thread you visit and it's something of a shame. You had some valid points at the start of all this debacle, but it's long been lost in the childish name calling and abuse between the two of you.

Why don't you be the bigger man and let it go now? I know you're capable of that.

Or is your intention to stalk GA from this point onwards regardless of what or where he posts? If so, what really is to be gained from that?

I'd like to see you back posting the decent, intelligent stuff that you used to post. All this nonsense is surely beneath you.

thankyou for your kind words Blush

this all began on the other thread when I tried to point out that the prevailing view on how to apply stats, advocated by users on that thread was fundamentally wrong.

I was met with ridicule and abuse by a number of posters, notably Green Army.

In the first instance, the response from other posters should never have been "you are thick, my 8 year old is brighter than you, you don't know what you're talking about".

As a result, I felt it only just to embarrass the posters that mocked me by pointing out what utter rubbish they were talking.

Don't get me wrong it doesn't "hurt my feelings" or anything silly like that. We're anonymous people on an internet forum after all.  But Green Army in particular wanted to play this game and so we played.

I've lost interest now and would like to think I've proved a point and provided no further antagonistic comments I am happy to contribute in a constructive manner.

trying to absorb the significance of the shenanigens with the groundsman at Eden Gardens - with india knocking up 600 plus in the last 3 tests here then at 3.25 i may give the draw a miss or at least wait until the end of the first 2 sessions

newcastle have been well supported today  - maybe because cisse is back or the supertitious backing the 14th team with 14 points playing their 14 game and on 14 goals

and olympiakos in from 3 to 2.58 today, i was lucky enough to be around when the team news hit - any ideas on the Utd line-up on wednesday , with utd qualified, the manchester derby on sunday & cluj desperate to win 5.9 cluj could be supported - high scoring CSs should be popular too esp after sunday

yeah come on everyone lets just draw a line under everything and start with a clean slate, after all we are all here for the same reason..

on the cricket im waiting a little while..if its a road, then all it takes is for both sides to score 450 plus, and the draw is a big price, so you really need to watch for at least the opening session
