hi all.....question about football under and over 2.5 goals......if i were to back under 2.5 @ 1.9 for 500 with bookie then lay @1.77 with betfair is that a definate profit of 39.55 whatever the result

think it works out to be £37.50, only if the match ends under 2.5 mate

Doing it for £500 stakes when you're not sure what you're doing is brave...

But yes - lay @ 1.77 to a £552 stake will give you a green book of about £24 - if you're on 5% commission that is, you'll need tto calculate the correct backer's stake to lay if your commission is lower.

erm assuming your backing and laying at 500

if you backed under 2.5 say and it won, then.....

you get £450 from the bookies if you backed at 1.9
and lose £385 from betfair if you laid at 1.77

so profit of £65

if you backed under 2.5 and it lost then

you lose your £500 with the bookies
and win £450 with betfair after 5%

so a loss of 50 quid.

plenty of arb calculators online if you google, just have a play on one to see how the numbers stack up
