Does anyone remember the 'forumite' and/or the full story?

Simply because 'winning', arbing, or more to it?  I can't remember.

The truth about modern UK bookmakers and how they treat punters and consequently turn them away from Horse Racing

That doesn't look like 3 or 4 years ago

Good point.  Just hoping someone can remember the context.

I do remember some shop workers posting that they would be p issed off if someone had filmed them and posted without blanking their face.

My 'doubts' is when the kid is trying to give a reason, he is interrupted.  Puts words in their mouth "they always have their reason"

I'm not defending bookies.  They close down people left/right/center.  But if disgruntled, why not just use exchanges.

A bit dated, to be honest.  Options are there.....

Yeah I agree - he does interrupt that guy about the reason. The fact most were willing to take his bet at SP leans to the punter possibly getting higher than SP prices on winners in the past and the bookies maybe thinking he had insider knowledge.

I know than many people (including myself) get online HS accounts limited which is a pain. The exchanges do have the commission to take into account but wandering around high streets in the rain looking for a bookie to take your £50 seems a worse option to me

He's attacked me on twitter.  He's been sending it to media.  Some retweet (pricewise) but some are saying need more validation, etc.

I told him to go to the media with it and if there is a story, they'll follow up.

His response is media is in the bookies back pocket.

"you mean the media that has large amounts of money paid into it by the bookmakers"

When I said best we end the conversation since he's gone all 'conspiracy', his response:

"You seem to have no idea how the world works. Keep taking the blue pill"

The reason for the ban is becoming more and more obvious.

Most people on here seem to agree with him about the media and bookmakers

He hasn't said to me that it is him though I never asked - simply asked if he knew the person.

And, yes, bookies close down accounts for various reasons. Old news.

Yes, if the bookies can't stay ahead of the trading, they will switch the board to SP. One reason they do this (note 'ONE') is if the liquidity is nil (note evening racing 8:00 bangor).

Olias, you will now say I am defending bookies.  I am not, I have no agenda.  All I did was post what I know.

And, as I said now and probably 3 or 4 years ago, there are plenty of media outlets who would be more than happy to take them on.  My understanding is the Guardian retweeted your clip while others seemed to say the same thing I did which is 'why was he banned?'.  I watched the video.  The last person tried to answer.  He was interrupted.

If, in fact, the person doing the video had been banned for 'winning', the excuse given could have actually supported this claim and made for better support if he had gotten the response then written the shop for the reason.

Instead, we get:

"I think it's partly because, um..."
"I'm winning"
"Ah, no, um, it's partly because, you,  ah"
(interrupted)
"ah, listen, I don't need the explanation...."

Perhaps someone from the inside would like to contribute.

I remember watching that video a few years ago.  Pretty sure he was purely a horse racing punter and think he was an ex college lecturer from somewhere oop north or the Midlands.  I think the original video was pulled by Youtube.

Yes, you're right.  Runs a web site for information exchange, etc.
