Pretty serious problem encountered when trying out the new version for the first time today.

I submitted a Lay bet for £222 @ 1.1 in a basketball match - the bet goes through, but only as £2 stake.

I repeated the same bet five times - only once did the correctly staked bet go through. This is a major issue + renders the new site unusable.

That's been mentioned a few times before on the forum. Also there's problems showing profit and loss when bets are placed and can take 5- 10 seconds to update. The old site's even worse with pages not even loading half the time. What can you say?!?

And if on the new site make sure you cancel the bet on 1 market before going to a new page to place a bet because if you don't it places them both.

I think it's somewhat ironic to see Betfair shouting about an updated design to the new site today when basic functionality is clearly lacking / not working at all.

I'd love to know what they think they're playing at.

I think everyone would. They're just shooting themselves in the foot.

Just had a phone call from Betfair regarding the issue raised - the first I've had in years - so it is fair to say that they're taking any problems on the new site seriously.

If anyone from Betfair is still monitoring the thread, just tested it again and it's still happening. Two bets with ref nos. 22773992508 and 22774012167 were both placed for £222 and went through as £2 and £22 bets respectively.

Easy solution here!

Multiply your bet x 111 = £24,642 and you will find that your bet goes in as required @ £222.00

Sometimes you just need to stand back and think 'outside of the box'!

Ha, good point Aunty Post - sometimes you can get so bogged down in something that you miss the obvious solution staring you in the face.

Now, to gen up on my 111 times table...

anyone is using the new site? Shocked
why would anyone do that?
old site is 100% better.
Report dan33 • October 16, 2012 11:33 PM BST
The fact is that the 'new' site will, at some point in the future, be the only site, so it's in everyone's interest that Betfair get it right. It is, unfortunately, at this point in time, far from that.

It woukd be interesting to know the figures for users of the new site.

That's odd. I'm using the new site for a while now and never experienced this problem.
I tried to reproduce the behaviour that you described but it worked fine for me.

Here's a screencast of the error happening, for the elimination of doubt.
