Your bank is now 3000, laying/betting to fixed 5% of bank (150), find 40 bets a week = 6000 turnover. 5% ROI is 300 profit a week, then you can compound, week by week.  If you have an edge, you don't need to stake like you are, esp now you have a decent bank. It is most certainly a very interesting read.

In all honesty, i am unsure whether i am finding value in any of my bets but i do spend at least 3-4 hours researching my bets for each specific day and never steer away from my selections.

I suppose in all honesty i am pretty much backing between 1.06 - 1.2 on most of my bets but i have never had a strong enough strike rate in backing at these odds so i have always favoured the laying of the C/S market.

Buzzer has always said that i have been staking too high but in all honesty i am not very good with staking plans etc, could you elaborate a bit on the above?! (having a bit of a blonde moment!).

One thing that i do know is that if i was to take a hit i would be devastated and it is somethimes that emotion that makes me go on to hit further losing bets!!

Im very interested to read your bit about 40 bets a week, what strike rate would i need to make £300 per week?, i suppose it would all be down to the odds etc??.

I can understand you wanting to build your bank but are you not going to withdraw some of that profit? 2k profit in 9 days! I would be withdrawing some of that with a big smile on my face

40 bets a week, you would need the same strike-rate to make 300 a week, using 150 stakes. Basically you can lose 1 in twenty. In an ideal world you would hit 19 winners and then the loser, but it doesn't work like that, you can hit winning streaks of 50 and the next day lay 3 winners in 10. This is the real test when you have the bad day, to carry on regardless, doing the same and using the same stakes, when you know it will take you at least a week to recover the loss. But if you have an edge and stay patient, you can average 300 a week.

Using only 5% of bank per bet (150 in your case) means you have twenty chances basically. Using only 5% means you can cope with the inevitable losing runs. Some may say with your odds, 5% is too conservative, but if you are unsure if you have an edge, then 5% is good, because if your edge or luck disappears, you are still gonna be in profit, at least have your 1000 start bank left and you can re-evaluate.

I am not a believer in staking plans, only level stakes works for me. The proffessional approach is to lay each bet for 150 liability, then each time you have an increase in bank, raise the stake. EG bank 4000, stake 200.

Of course it's not as fun this way But you said you would be devastated if you have a big hit now. If you want to carry on the same, maybe spend a grand on something nice, start again with a grand and have a grand back-up. My way, if you get 5 hits in a row, you are only gonna lose 750.

If you are not comparing prices, yours with BF, then its hard to say if you have an edge. Maybe subconsciously you are finding value (particularly IP). Only after a few hundred bets will you find out. My suggestion of staking will keep you in the game long enough to find out.

You are still, massively, overstaking. You had a good run to get to over 3k and you should have reigned it in and staked to lose, at most, 5% of your bank. You're still ahead but, if you want to run this for the season not just a month or so, you need to rethink your liabilities on each bet.

Nearly 1k profit in a few hours!, i got very nervous with the AC Milan game and i think it has given me a whole new perspective on this type of betting.  Could of quite easily ended up with a loss today but i feel that i got extremely lucky.

Going to combine my banks now, having made nearly 2.5k profit in less than a month and start to look at better staking plans. 

Any suggestions.....

I am now thinking about trying to increase my bank by 3-5% per week.

I was considering using 10% of my bank £340.64 and backing/ laying until i hit a 50% increase of that stake (£170.32).

This would mean being more selective with my bets.

If i hit a losing bet, i then use 20% of my bank (£681.28) to try and re-coup my losses, when i increase this by 50% (£340.64) i then revert back to using 10% of my stake again until i increase that by 50%???.

I suppose this is a bit of a 'martingale' type theory but i personally believe that i ahve the ability to achieve this in the long run.

Has anyone ever used a staking plan like this before??.

Or might it be better to use 5% of my bank (£170.32) and try to increase this by 50% (£85.16), and doing this twice to achieve the 5% bank increase?.

This would mean that i would have more opportunities in achieving it within the suggestive staking plan...

You want to make 5% of bank Per week? What is wrong with 20 bets a week using 5% LEVEL stakes? If you have a 10% edge you Will make around 5% profit a week (betfair take the rest). These are average figures, nobody Wins every week. So drop the target, forget the betfair balance and play the game.

Never had 3 consecutive losers, martingale, staking plans, chasing losses, targets, etc...only ends one way.

Actually i use Maria stakes when laying (greyhounds), a slight variant of level stakes. 1% lay stake 3.5sp and under, 0.6% 3.6-7.4 and 0.4% 7.6-9.8. I don't lay double figures, so my stakes fluctuate between 2.5 and 3.6%. But crucially,  i never have more than 4% in play. Infact I very rarely lay just one dog either so my average risk is just 2% Per race, including lays, backs and trades.

14 out of 16. Liverpool reserves are obviously better than their first team. Struggling to see the value in laying double figure odds, there is literally no room for error. For example if I want to risk 4.5 points to win 0.3 points laying Liverpool Unquoted last night, surely a better way is to bet 0.3 on under 2.5 goals, as the goal expectancy was low. I think you have to put a max odds of 10 in. Anyway, on I go. Where is the op?
