The reason i ask is I have today been restricted by be,t365 having opened an acct with them just before the euro's .Only deposited a ton and have a current balance of 1700. Is this the norm? All my bets were football. Any thoughts?

B365 are the best by far but even they can close u down after a few bets (winners or not) if they profile u as a person who they feel they can't beat.

I don't think there is any hard and fast rule as its more down to what they think of you betting patterns. I`ve had one account closed down after 4 losing bets (-1200 or so) and had an account last 16 months that I was prolly up 15k.

Personally I`m satisfied if I make 3k profit b4 the account is closed. Normally less especially Hills, SJ, Sky, SPbet etc.

Very difficult to figure out how bookies decide who they  are going to close or restrict. I sometimes think it's more to do with whether the trader has a hangover,or is suffering the effects of a " cocaine night out" than any logical betting reason.

Sky closed my account after 23 consecutive losing bets.

A constant mystery. One of the firms who have a bad reputation have let me bet with them for 5 years, no restrictions, and the account is in modest profit. Another, think folically challenged from Mancs, closed me after one bet of £200 at odds on. Who knows?

My experiences are similar to johnn above - winning accounts stay open for years,losing accounts closed.

There seems to be countless variables, including the exceptionally low quality of traders who really have no clue on how to treat various accounts.

Yes, that kind of restriction is normal. The same firm have restricted me to ten pounds takeout--pretty derisory since my average stake was in 3 figs.

To get on when you are getting a better price than here, you need placers, ideally in the shops. You could try people who are losing a lot with them, but then you have problems with trust and being paid yourself.

There's no mystery. Arbs are flagged to bookies, which doesn't mean that the bookie will move his price at once, indeed some bookmakers wish to "fill" - but if you bet during that window, the arb alert is appended to your bet, and if ALL or NEARLY ALL your bets are flagged, the bookmaker just thinks ... well I can lay his bets cheaper on the exchange.

I have an account with JC that I always do well on and would have expected to be closed by now - lots of small bets though so maybe they aren't bothered.
